(8 x 8) + (7 x 7) + (6 x 6) + (5 x 5) + (4 x 4) + (3 x 3) + (2 x 2) + (1 x 1) = 204 squares

I\'m not sure if that\'s correct but it makes sense to me

Cool, now I guess this means it\'s my turn for a brain teaser.... how about this:

Billy and his new bride Brenda were speeding down a country road toward the city. Suddenly Billy\'s car began to sputter and eventually came to a complete stop. Realizing he was out of gas, Billy decided to go get help. Before leaving, he told Brenda to lock all four doors and keep the windows rolled up tight. When Billy returned to the car he found his new bride dead and another person in the car. The windows and doors were still locked and closed, and the car was undamaged.

How did Brenda die, and who was the other person?

Nice guess Vercz, but unfortunately it\'s not the correct one. Oh and Hoax, the car is not a convertible.

Here\'s some hints:
She was NOT murdered
She did NOT commit suicide

she was already pregnant and she died in child birth? lol!
that'd make sense why they were speeding down a country road to the city and didnt bother with gas etc

okay mmm here's one from school:

replace the following letters with 0 - 9 to make the equation true
INTERNET + MAINTAIN = FIREWALL

Just a note, if the I in internet equals 3 then the I in maintain and firewall will also equal 3.

Do the numbers all have to be different? Because if they can be the same then if they were all set equal to zero OR if just F and M were equal to each other it would work.

eg. 00000000 + 00000000 = 00000000
OR
00000000 + 10000000 = 10000000
00000000 + 20000000 = 20000000
00000000 + 30000000 = 30000000
etc.

If they all have to be different, I\'ve got a brute force program (with about 9 embedded loops) working on it right now /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> .... may take a few hours/days though...lol

sorry i meant to explain that better, not just that if A = 5 then the rest of the A's should, but each different letter should be different, all matching letters can have the same value as one another.

lol.... cheating is fun!

How about:

INTERNET + MAINTAIN = FIREWALL
49267962 + 35492549 = 84760511

That is:
I = 4
N = 9
T = 2
E = 6
R = 7
M = 3
A = 5
F = 8
W = 0
L = 1

I\'ll post a new brain teaser tonight... can\'t think of one off hand and I\'ve gotta run right now.

Hey Rift, do you know of anyone that has solved that last problem without writing a computer program?
My dad (not knowing how to program) has been busting his brain trying to work it out and has had little success.

Okay, I\'ve got one....
