ok, well the wait a month option is pretty much there for us already as, near as i can tell , adaera wants a ton of stuff to pick and choose from before she even re-opens a cafepress store...so no pressure there for those of you knee deep in other projects right now.
so far as i can tell we have
*the kn logo birdy
*killanet the word iteself
*possible digital pictures to put inspiring words on
there are tons of great dig pix floating around the site right now, is it just a matter of picking and choosing? then adding the right slogan?
*other artwork as yet undesigned but would look great printed on a hat etc
this one might take a bit longer lol...i'll have a look at what others are selling similar to this and try to fit in with fashion for once
*slogans
these shouldnt be too hard to come up with-i like the pixel one! lol
failing that i suggest a t-shirt full of avatars

YAY finally someone who figured out what I was driving at...taking our time, seeing what\'s out there, using/altering what we have and then opening a kick butt store

/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

/lmfao.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':lmfao:\' /> @ shirt full of avatars

/blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> then again, it might work

lol
and the avatars might work...find a bunch and have them going accross in a line with killanet somehow written on...hey, theres about 300 to choose from:P lol you could mix and match your own avatar shirt
nem
edit: here's my crappy example. the image at the bottom would go roughly where the red outlined box is. they could go right to left, up and down, or just one favourite avatar blown up in the middle. or the avatar at its regular 100x100 on the back of the shirt at the neck line like some labels do. it could easily then branch out into beanies etc if someone likes an avatar that much

0.0 you\'re right, it could work.

meh... ok so I\'m too lazy to go edit my post up there ^^ so let\'s just delete that one up there

/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> *deletes it now*
Since every one else has mentioned it I must mention it too so I don\'t feel left out

/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> we should wait a couple months before opening it up. K now that I got that out of my system let\'s get serious..
It\'d be great to have a store with lots of stuff, but looking at what has happened in the past when you (Adaera) asked for designed for the store no one really did anything. I must say I didn\'t want to make anything for the store back then but I\'m sure t-shirts would be fun to make

/happy.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'^_^\' />. I remember the calendar contest at TG007 and really liked that idea... Maybe we can have a yearly calendar contest and select some of the best artworks to go in a calendar of our own.
I like how cafepress is providing all of these items. Heck they have everything from underwear to clocks :\ Great idea to open the store and give users some items and advertising for us on t-shirts maybe. Plus when killacafe opens we can put up some fliers(sp) there for the store there too lol

I may be wrong, but I was sure we had a calender going or something like that a while back. I'm either going crazy or I've just leaked some uber admin plans, oops!

you didn\'t leak anything; I\'ve talked about finding calendar publishers/distributors in the staff room. I\'ve found some publishers/retailers, they just aren\'t real fast at replies

/disgust.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(hmph)\' />
This is another reason why publishing our own calendar either through a local printer (found one, no prices though because it depends on the pix/layout/etc) or through an online outlet. EZPrint, who does all of the DA printwork offers this, so does cafepress. EZPrint offers an 18 month and 2 year calendar, whereas cafepress does not.
I reiterate again, this is nothing that will happen in the next month. We have alot of other work to do first, and alot of planning/collaboration to do on products. At any rate, I have to get to my parents\' house for dinner, but keep the discussion going...the more discussion, the more ideas we get and that will make it easier on the planning segment.

Well the discussion really went far after you went to go have dinner.. :\ lmao
This might be a good idea...... I just want to see this happen lmao, we order things from cafepress to put in our own gift shop in killacafe! WOOOO!!

/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> then we can get our money back by charging them what we were charged to order that item? Heck if I know, anyway... yay.

Hmm seems my prescence in the chatroom isn\'t that much so I don\'t take part in any discussions.
My opinion about this one has also already been noted. I think we should wait a bit untill we have a sufficient amount of designs to start with. We would also need some other stuff so we can hit hard at the opening

/bigwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />
This was just what I think about it in a nutshel

Another idea: let the public do some designs too.
It can be an open graphics contest type thing. They submit all the work they want, and if we like them, we use them. We would have to talk to them about copyright stuff and things like that, but it would be nice to see some public input.

I like the store idea... I\'ve been busy lately and haven\'t been around here much, so I may be about to say something that has already been talked about in detail. If that\'s the case, forgive me.
At any rate, I think we need to start brain storming about marketing ideas (ways of drawing people to KillaNet). If we get large enough exposure we could sell just about anything. My thinking is that free stuff is always a winner to draw a crowd.
This was my thinking behind the wallpaper changer. I have yet to release the wallpaper changer outside of the KillaNet servers. However, I\'m sure there are high traffic sites that offer wallpapers that would be willing to host or link the wallpaper changer. Once I\'m sure that the wallpaper changer is bug free, I will submit the wallpaper changer to these sites(with Adaera\'s approval). This will give our work greater exposure and hopefully bring in more traffic. This is an example of what I mean by offering free stuff to draw a crowd.
I have to commend Adaera\'s marketing abilities, she always manages to draw a huge crowd around whatever she\'s doing. However, I think perhaps we can assist her with some \"free stuff\" marketing tools.
Any way, I know this has gotten a little off topic, but I think it relates to the overall success of KillaNet including the online store.
To sum it up, in my opinion while building a large/quality inventory is very important in preperation to opening a store, methods of drawing people to the store may be worth giving some thought to as well.

You\'ve made some excellent suggestions Jake, thank you

/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> and yes, go ahead and submit the changer to wherever you would like to. The Admins have already started working on an SEO plan (search engine optimization) which may involve a few small changes, but they will mostly be in the backends and not even noticeable to the average user. We haven\'t really involved the rest of the staff in the SEO plan because Admin access is required to make the changes.
Shane and I have also started on a marketing plan, which will be carefully planned out before implimentation. To this end, we need sites/pages completed and content. This includes having two active forums that people feel they would like to be a part of. We can lead the users in, but we have to give them reasons to stay.
