[spoiler]SOMEONE DIES IN EPISODE #100!
Smallville Executive Producer Alfred Gough has revealed to TV Guide that Jor-El will be coming to collect the life of someone who is close to Clark, a deal made earlier this season. The \"reckoning\" (also conveniently the title of the episode) will happen in episode #12 of the current season, which happens to also be the series\' 100th show. More so, Gough has hinted that the life force that Jor-El is collecting might not be the only big character finality in the episode.
The big question of fans\' minds since then has been a resounding \"Who will it be?\" The Smallville production team is being extra careful so we don\'t find out; we hear false scripts have even been circulating so there\'s no way we can safely know.[/spoiler]

Episode #5-10: \"Fanatic\" Air Date: January 2006
[spoiler]- Casting breakdowns have requested that the actress taking the role of Samantha (which may now be called \"Roxanne\") must be willing to shave her head on camera for the role. They want someone who is \"drop dead gorgeous\" and describe it as a \"big\" role.
Lex Is Running For Office
- Lex arranges a photo-op at the hospital, because \"the nurses\' union is key in the 49th district.\" Some students are wearing \"Vote for Lex\" shirts. By the way, the office both Lex and Jonathan are running for is senator.
- One of the members of the Central Kansas Students for Lex Luthor is a tight-shirted 21-year-old named Samantha Dunn. Lex meets with her and her friends and thanks them for their support. \"The youth vote is stronger than we expected and I have you to thank for that,\" he says. Lex refers to the Kent campaign as \"now rudderless.\"
- Samantha is the president of the Students for Lex Luthor. Samantha wants to take a picture of her, and she makes sure she gets the photo taken in front of a particular item. Her knowledge of Lex\'s history impresses him.
Meanwhile, back at the campus...
- Lois is stapling Jonathan Kent posters on a campus kiosk - over Lex Luthor posters. Clark suggests that is bad sportsmanship, and that she should be a little more professional. \"I can be professional,\" she tells him.
Chloe Digs For Details...
- ...and she learns that Samanatha may in actuality be more than they bargained for. She may actually be dangerous.
Samantha\'s Fannish Knowledge
- Samantha shows up on Lex\'s bed, with a new shorter, darker haircut. \"I hear you prefer brunettes,\" she tells him. She makes a reference to Jonathan Kent being \"out of the picture\" now. \"I\'d never condone what happened to Mr. Kent,\" he says. Jonathan has been attacked in some way, and Lex suggests that Samantha is the one who did it.
- Samantha exhibits an encyclopedic amount of knowledge about Lex, referencing certain interviews he has done in the past throughout the conversation.
- Some associates of Samantha\'s break into Lex\'s mansion at night, and they use the birthday of Lex\'s brother as the security code. (Julian\'s we imagine, since Lucas is virtually forgotten)
- We learn what Samantha\'s ultimate goal in this story is (best not to spoil here, but use your imagination) and that she plans on pinning the blame on Lex Luthor - \"but don\'t worry, you have an alibi,\" she tells him.[/spoiler]
Episode #5-11: \"Lockdown\" Air Date: January 2006
[spoiler]- The title of this episode has changed from \"Closer\" to \"Lockdown.\"
Candidates Running Neck and Neck
- A newspaper carries the headline proclaiming that the two senatorial candidates - Lex Luthor and Jonathan Kent - are running \"neck and neck.\" Lex is not very pleased with this headline. The campaign manager suggests that they\'ll find something against him, that no one\'s record is that squeaky clean. \"You haven\'t met Jonathan Kent,\" Lex tells him.
- Two Smallville police officers named Greg and Harris come in, and Greg announces they must vacate as there has been a bomb threat. After most of the people leave, and Lex is on the phone angry that security didn\'t alert him, Greg and Harries reveal guns. \"We\'re not cops anymore,\" they tell him.
- Greg\'s a guy, Harris is a girl, and they both end up in Lex\'s library after Lex escapes to his Panic Room. Lex thinks he\'s outsmarted them, and taunts them over an intercom. Yet when he pushes a security button... nothing happens.
What Do They Want?
- Greg wants the ship that landed in \"Arrival,\" or \"that room is going to be your coffin,\" he tells Lex.
- Later in the episode Chloe and Clark look at a video of Greg Flynn talking to his psychiatrist. It seems that Greg was one of the people who saw the ship crash in the meteor shower, but no one is believing him, which has driven him insane. He even says he saw what came out of it. Greg tells the psychiatrist everything he\'d seen, which was basically the first few minutes of \"Arrival.\"
- \"I saw them kill everyone. Everyone except the girl. She got away,\" Greg says. Clark immediately puts two and two together and knows he\'s referring to Lana.
- Greg continues rambling in the video, saying that Lex Luthor took the ship away. \"He knows the truth!\"
Lexana Lives
- \"I know what you did,\" Lana tells Lex. Lex \"holds her gaze\" and \"doesn\'t know what to say.\" \"I\'m sorry I sucked you into this,\" he tells her. She asks why he doesn\'t just tell Greg and Harris the truth about the ship if it\'s in a warehouse. Lex says \"I can\'t tell them the truth. They\'ll kill us both.\"
Sheriff Adams, Reporting For Duty
- Sheriff Adams and a deputy respond to the Luthor Mansion, and start asking where the security detail is. Harris comes out and tells her \"They\'re checking the grounds. Looks like it\'s a false alarm,\" hiding the fact, apparently, that she is a bad cop.
- When Adams asks what Harris is doing there, since she\'s supposed to be off duty, Harris says she\'s \"picking up an extra shift.\"
- Sheriff Adams and her deputy enter the library to find Greg.
Lana Fu: The Legend Continues
- Lana gets in a whip-kick fight with Harris.
Who Shot L.L.?
- Lex is shot and is being wheeled in to Smallville Medical Center. Clark\'s following alongside, and keeps asking where Lana is. The EMT\'s want him to go away. Clark asks Lex where Lana is. \"Warehouse fifteen....\" Lex says under his breath.
Fight In The Warehouse
- Harris and Greg have Lana in the warehouse that the Kryptonian ship is in. Lana asks what they plan to do with the spaceship, \"Climb in it and fly away?\" They say they have no plan to open the ship, as there\'s nothing inside but death. It is revealed Greg\'s true plan - not to reveal or get inside the ship, but to DESTROY it.... because he saw things from that ship killing his co-workers and friends. \"You were there?\" Lana asks. \"Just like you. Only you kept quiet and I told the truth,\" he said, before Harris adds that \"he was put in a psych ward for it.\"
- Lana leads them to where the ship was located, only to find.... nothing but pipes where the ship used to be! Chaos ensues, guns are pulled out, there\'s some fighting, and Harris says she will be \"happy when that
/censored.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(cens)\' /> is dead.\" Clark comes in with superspeed, presumably to save the day.[/spoiler]
Episode #5-13: \"Vengeance\" Air Date: February 2006
[spoiler]- 11/21/05: The character \"Maya\" referenced below is now named \"Andrea.\" So, anywhere you see \"Maya\" below, change it in your head!

- 11/3/05: Casting notices have gone out for an \"avenging angel\" character named Maya. She is described as Latina, \"drop dead gorgeous,\" and as having \"powers similar to Clark\'s.\" Despite fan speculation, we do NOT think this is a code to cover up an apperance by an established DC Comics character.
- Chloe is present in these spoilers; however, don\'t assume that ANY spoilers beyond the previous episode ensure safety for your favorite character. We have learned that some false information can and will be disseminated. Beyond that, we do find it a bit odd that the casting sides for the episode mention nothing of a character death. TPTB may be on to us. Although... the Daily Planet connection here is pretty intricate, so maybe it DOES mean Chloe is safe.
But I Thought Clark Hated Masks?
- Clark puts on a pantyhose mask and pretends to mug Chloe, in order to get the attention of a local vigilante. The ruse works. The vigilante shows up and pounces, spinning the \"mugger\" off of Chloe. The vigilante is described as a masked, leather-clad heroine. There\'s a fight, and Clark pulls the mask off of her.. revealing Maya. Chloe and Clark recognize her, and are rocked.
As The Anvil Turns
- Maya turns into her \"civilian identity\" in a phone booth outside of the Daily Planet. Chloe asks her about this, and Maya says that the bathroom was taken. Chloe comments about how different Maya looks with her hair in a scrunchie and a pair of glasses. Chloe then asks Maya for an exclusive interview, promising not to reveal her true identity. Funny how Chloe takes all of these Lois Lane-like mannerisms all the time. \"Trust me, she\'s great at keeping secrets,\" Clark tells Maya. Maya ends up striding to her desk, which implies she\'s an employee at the Daily Planet. Clark and Chloe follow her there, and there\'s a meteor rock on her desk. Chloe tries to keep it away from Clark. We learn that a meteor rock once saved Maya\'s life.
The Origin of Maya
- Six months previous, Maya and her mother were stabbed. She needed a heart transplant, and nearly died. The person who ended up becoming her heart donor, was in Smallville and died during the second meteor shower. Somehow the meteors must have affected the heart, which gave Maya special powers.
- Maya\'s mother wasn\'t so lucky. She had passed away. But her mom had worked a lot to give to the community and help people, as a social worker, which inspired Maya in many ways. \"The day she died I lost my hero,\" Maya said.
Costume Fun
- Later, Clark asks why Maya takes her costume everywhere, and doesn\'t wear it everywhere she goes. \"It bunches up. Makes me look fat,\" she tells him. He also asks her why she wears a mask and black leather, and she asks if he\'d rather suggest primary colors and a cape.
- \"So who are you really? The mild-mannered reporter or the dark avenger?\" Clark asks. Batman anvil!
- Clark and Maya definitely have different approaches to crime fighting.[/spoiler]
Episode #5-14: \"Tomb\" Air Date: February 2006
[spoiler]
- Chloe is possessed by a young woman who committed suicide 10 years ago. She tries to kill herself, but fails and ends up institutionalized. Through sessions with a psychiatrist it is learned that an orderly in the institution has been coaxing young women to kill themselves and then keeps them in the walls of his house.
- Chloe\'s mentioned-but-never-seen mother may factor in to this story.
- A new character who is involved with law enforcement comes in who may be a potential love interest for Lois.[/spoiler]
