mmmm, photography. Something that always sounded interesting but never thought I\'d see it as a professional thing. Sounds like alot of fun. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
Love is all a matter of timing.
It's no good meeting the right person too soon or too late.
If I'd live in another time or place...
...my story might have had a very different ending.

I will be starting to work soon, but I don't think Team Leader is going to cause too much problems in most people's schedules. Hypothetically, it would be as though you're a Manager at a shop or something (at least, this is what I think it would/should be). Thus, you're in charge of hiring/firing/motivating/assigning. Only difference here is that the Supervisor (ie: Admin who's jurisdiction is the same as your own) has the overall say and will also be the voice to motivate you (to motivate the members of said group). I haven't any problem being a Team Leader; even when I start working. In my position, I just see "Team Leader" as "Editor-in-Chief/Manager" lol.

oh great, i guess this means i have to stop being lazy and use caps lock and punctuation now huh? lol i'm confident i can handle that work load - even though for the last two weeks i have been missing - between the dogs and my health i've been pretty burnt out.As for duties, some of them will be the same as what you've been doing...an awesome job promoting our tutorials <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> Alot of it will be ideas for what kinds of merchandise to carry, managing advertiser space & charges, store management etc. I haven't totally fleshed out the team responsibilities yet, working on it though.
sounds like i'll have the time to do it also <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
i dont know how relevant this question is in regards to my position, but will team leaders be able to request work from others? say banners and coding with relative ease or will it have to come from that sections admin? i'm just wondering how smoothly the different teams will be able to work together....in which case i think it would be helpful to have a general "job description" given for each team .

As for time consumption, it may vary. While there is a level of expectation in regards to each staff member working on something at any given time, your particular team may not have a full \'project\' in development. Things like tutorials, works in progress, news things, are always needed on the forum to keep the content fresh. The search engine spiders always go for the new topics first, and if there aren\'t any new topics, they don\'t update our rankings on search engines. Certainly if a team is working on a project, there may be more time involved, however that is where time management skills come in with realistic milestone deadlines. Rough drafts, alpa, beta, etc etc.
Yes nem, as I mentioned in the initial post teams will be working together on projects, that is why communication between team leaders and also amongst team members is important. For example, Programming starts to work on a new application. They need some graphics for the GUI. The team leader will send a request to whichever graphics team would best suit what they need-3D or 2D and a detailed list of what is required would be given to that graphics team, along with a reasonable milestone deadline for the alpha version. The teams would then work together so that both teams are happy with the end icons or backgrounds or whatever was needed for that programme. It would be up to the graphics team leader to ensure that the project is done on time, because it won\'t be productive to let the programming team down by not having their graphics ready.
Each team will also be expected to contribute content to the eZine for the different editorial departments. Whether they are news, tutorials, reviews, graphics, stories, photos, or opinion articles doesn\'t matter, but while David is the editor and will be contributing a fair bit, as will the writing/journalism team, it will take all of us to make the eZine viable.
As I also mentioned in the initial post, I am still working out the descriptions etc. for each team. The feedback in this thread will help with that, which is why I posted the thread before having everything written out and the complete site map realignment listed. The feedback so far has been great, and I\'m glad that so many of you feel this is a positive move forward <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

All the new ideas seem fine to me, and my area is ok... new layouts and well a general revamp will be a welcome change <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />, i\'ll post more in regards to the download/freeware system later because the development has/will unfortunately slow down a little, due to my having financial difficulties forcing me into work <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> lol

This is what I\'ve got in mind for the forum. Below is where the main changes will take place, but it will effect other places too. Comments welcome <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

It shall be fun. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... unsure.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
Its doable. KB integration won\'t be too tricky...the image uploader will need the most work.

As I said in Admins that intergrating blogs into the forum is a great idea and i think will benefit the forum, either getting KB users to do more on the forum, and vice versa!

I'm happy with what has been outlined and where I have been put in regards to the team.
In my opinion the whole forum skins need a bit of a re-vamp though.

Skins need to be redone for 2.1, this is on my list for the weekend.
