WELL........... This is really going to get ya!!!..LOL <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /brows.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(brows)\' />

It seems Sony in all its wisdom sends out the Adaptec for only one reason!!.. it has "Known" problems with Windows XP OS's.. thats why they send it out.. Just to cause its customers Grief!!!.. OH and did I mention??? Your NOT Suppose to Install the Sony Drivers in the software they send to you??,, and your NOT suppose to install the downloadable drivers thats on Sonys site???, you know.. the drivers that Sony has up there for Windows XP!!

Well.. Since I uninstalled all of that Sunday and have been messin around with the Camera itself,, I found sumptin out!!!

You dont "need" any of the drivers!!.. none of them at all!!.. seems I've been getting the problems because I installed some/part or all of the software that Sony sends!! So since I found out the "Other" way to get images off your Mavica, maybe we can just link all the other forums to this thread and then everyone can see how to cheat!,, and I have to say there must be a 100 other forums that are asking the same question!

Stick a CD in the Mavica
Connect the AC power adaptor to the Mavica...... yes........ plug the thing in ok!
On the top dial of the Mavica turn the dial to "Set-Up"
click the down button to "setup2" at the bottom
click USB Connect
select PTP.... Not Normal but PTP...LOL....... go figure huh? <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/huh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
Now connect the USB cable to your PC..
Windows XP will see the Sony Mavica,, not as any drive but just as a cam.... it will have the Sony Mavica icon in your "My Computer" screen
Click on the Sony Mavica icon and the Windows XP Image wizard will run.. move your images to where ever you do

DO NOT have any Sony Drivers or Adaptec or MGI on your system.. do a uninstall if you do then re-boot after your uninstall

Simply right??

Why Sony sends that junk out with instruction on installing it is beyond me.. all its done is cause 1000 of people problems... Sony must be learning from FEMA.....

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.
