My Board

It's kind of... monday, at school, study lessons for the rest of the day, finished all my work, so I thought I'd try writing. As you can see, I've posted in the "Story Part 4" thread and I'm quite pleased with my work. Not sure about where my story will go, I'll just carry on from my other post and I hope to have an ending sometime in a month /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> Here's the first part.

The world was just a blur. She was dizzy and disorientated. She couldn't even read the clock that was barely inches from her face. She moved her right arm over to the other side of the bed to check to see if her fiance was there. He wasn't. This startled her because he was never one to get up early, it was always her up first. She called out his name. No reply. She was still tired. The nightmare she had the previous night had given her partial insomnia. She got out of bed, still dressed in her pyjamas, she searched the house looking for her lost partner. She called out his name again. Her cry only met with the sound of forest animals creeping around outside their house.

The house was located in a forest, and the forest in a valley. This forest was miles away from any civilization so they had to fend for themselves. They did a great job at it too. They had a small farm out the back which grew capsicum, cabbage, tomatos, apples and lemons. They also had a well that provided them with all the water they needed. It frequently rained in the forest, so there was never any shortages of water.

The girl walked around the house, barefoot and still in her pyjamas. She still had no response from her fiance. She was now worried. She put on some shoes and noticed her fiance's shoes were still there. She remembered that he hated walking around barefoot because he complained that the floor was never warm. She checked the only road that went from their house. Their Four Wheel Drive was still parked out the front. She checked the road for any footprints but due to the previous night's rain they would of been washed away.

Again, she called his name. This time it was met with the sound of a large group of startled birds flying away. Still dizzy, she went back inside. She realised she was starving so she made herself some breakfast. As she prepared and ate her breakfast, she analyzed the facts. Her fiance was nowhere to be seen. His shoes were still inside. The car was still parked. She wondered if her fiance could of ran away from her. She quickly dismissed the thought because her fiance had nowhere to go as the jungle floor was stalked by ravenous creatures at night. She tried to think of a reason as to why he would just leave her, she could not make one.

She put the remanents of her breakfast outside so that the creatures of the forest could come and get them at their own will. The only sound was her footsteps walking on the polished wooden flooring. She threw her bowl onto the kitchen bench. She was still exhausted and dizzy. She went back to bed and pulled the quilt over her. She tried to remember the dream, but she could not remember it completely. She knew the man in her dreams was her fiance, she knew that he was in the same bed as her the previous night and she knew that she was trying to rescue him from something. She closed her eyes, and fell into a deep sleep.

Forums weren't working at school so I just had to type this up in notepad, email it home and then post it whenever the forums are up.

Part 2

She had the same dream again. She was sitting at the table again, directly across from her fiance. The room morphed, in the same order as the last dream. Instantly, she remembered every detail of the last dream. She got up from the wooden table and reached over to her fiance. She tried grabbing his arm but her hand went straight through it. This dream was different though. Her fiance, as if realising her efforts, turned and looked at her. He was saying something, his mouth was moving but no words were coming out. She tried to speak back but she found she couldn't move her mouth. She tried moving her hand again and she could not. Her body started moving by itself, she had no control over it. Whatever was moving her body was moving her, back to the chair where she previously sat. As she sat down in the chair she saw her fiance, putting his hands to the glass as in the other dream. He was sucked in the same way. She banged her fists on the glass to no avail. It didn't even crack. The rest of the dream was a blur as she tried to wake up from the second nightmare. As her head hit the table in the dream, she awoke.

It was now late in the afternoon. She had recovered from her dizzyness and she was able to see clearer. The clock read 2:00 but the second hand wasn't moving. She guessed that it had ran out of power long ago as the sun was covered by forest. She went to the clock on the wall in the kitchen, that also, read 2:00. The only other clock in the house was her watch which she kept in the bedside drawers. She quickly opened up the drawers, half expecting for it not to be there, but it was. The watch also read 2:00. She walked around the house light-footed, more alert than ever. She listened for any sound that would give her a clue as to who, or what, stopped the clocks and where her fiance was. Silence envoloped the house. With no judge on time and no fiance, she thought it would be best to look around the house. She noticed the remanents of her breakfast had long gone, animal footprints surrounded the area where she dropped her food. Her shoes were still there but her fiance's were not. She looked outside around the food for any shoeprints. She knew she was the only one remaining in the house and she was paranoid about locking all the doors before she went to bed. Judging by the sun and her hunger, she guessed it was long past lunch and more closer to dinner. She noticed that the sun was setting, fast. She lit a few candles and she dotted them around the house with just enough light to make out the basic shapes of everything. Three quick, sharp knocks to the door made her jump. She rushed to the door. When she arrived she flung it open as fast as she could, she couldn't see anything. She was just about to turn around and go back inside when she found a note in the mud by the door. She opened the note and she was shocked by what she read...

Per Adaera's request (2nd time today I've said that), here is the THIRD (and possibly last) installation of the story.

The note read:[i]
Dear remaining occupant,
You may or may not know that your house has a basement. You also may or may not know what you are looking for is in that particular area of our house. Go back inside, press down on each side of your dining table, beginning with the North side, then east, south and west. A section of the wall will move behind you, do not be alarmed as this is the staircase to your basement. Walk down into the area, run your hand along the left wall and in the middle there is a candle. Light it. You have now found what you are looking for.[/i]

She followed the instructions in the note carefully. As the secret passage to the basement opened up, she jumped. She was still afraid of what ever was around the house. She walked down the staircase, and sure enough, on the left wall, exactly in the middle was a candle. She pulled out the packet of matches she used earlier and lit the candle. The candle burned brightly and as her eyes adjusted to the darkness she was in shock. She found her fiance. He looked like he was sleeping on the floor. She shoved him hard in the ribs and he groaned, rolled over and opened his eyes. He mumbled "What do you want?". She laughed, cried, hugged him and done all the other things a girl does when she finds her lost fiance. She helped him up off the floor and turned around to lead him out of the room. There was something on the stairs. She walked over there and looked at it. It was a photo of her dream room. In even more shock than before she asked her fiance "Have you ever seen this room before?".
"No."
"Weird, I've had two dreams today that have had the same room in it. Well," she sighed "They weren't dreams, they were nightmares."
"What happened in them?"
" I lost you."
"Oh..." He hugged her.


A few hours later...

Her fiance had finally explained, after a rather long winded explanation that used a lot of big words, what happened. He couldn't sleep because of an upset stomach. He got out of bed, made something for it and was going to back to bed when something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. He explained that the wall "moved" and that he was curious to see what caused it, or what was behind it. He walked down the stairs and the last thing he remembers was slipping on something. She held up the picture. He knew what that meant and replied "Yeah, that's probably it..."
