Tusk Interactive open for business February 1st

Tusk Interactive announces that after a lengthy search for startup capital, they are now slated for a February 1st start date. Company owner and president, Armando Marini is quoted as saying “It’s been a long and hard road. There were a few times when I thought this day might never come. I’m extremely excited to see everything finally come together.”

Tusk interactive have revealed that they are in discussions with several parties in regards to their first project. “I want to make sure that we don’t make things more difficult on ourselves. It seems like every startup I see is working on an MMO, so to me that’s a red flag saying stay away from MMO’s or at least be far removed from the status quo. In gaming, a particular game will own a sector. Everyone else will fight for scraps. I don’t plan on fighting for anyone’s scraps. If we put a ton of effort into something, it has to be effort well placed.”

Tusk Interactive's Marini was the former Lead Designer for DICE Canada, which was swallowed up by the EA machine in 2006. Several of DICE's former designers and developers are now over at Tusk Interactive. Marini is very experienced in the Online Multiplayer FPS genre, so there is speculation that Tusk could be working in that direction and perhaps come up with the ultimate OMFPS game. Could anyone develop a game which would knock CS off its throne?

The About section on Tusk's website reveals that they will be working on mobile games, handheld platforms and "emerging markets."
