My Board

One of the HotWheels cars I Customize is a '62 Chevy PickUp.
It comes with a small surfboard in the bed.
Here's a couple of designs I created to make Decals to cover the surfboards after I paint them SnowWhite Pearl.
The Decals are created on BelDecal paper (8 1/2" x 11" sheets) and the paint is all House Of Kolor products, Of Course!!!!!!!!!
The surfboards are 1/4" x 1 5/8"

Those are pretty cool looking. How did you get into doing customizations like this?

Okay, are you ready for this?

Back around the early 90's I was hanging out in Jean Lafitte's BlackSmith Shop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
The oldest bar in the country it was established in 1726 and served as planning headquarters for the Battle of New Orleans.
Every night I'd leave my apartment in the French Quarter around 11p.m. and head up Bourbon.
First stop was always the BlackSmith Shop. Favorite hangout of Movie Stars and street trash.
A little blonde named Rosie was Bartender and she always had a couple of HotWheels up on the bar.
During the course of imbibing and conversation these HotWheels would sometimes be rolled across the bar from one customer to another.
I never really thought much about them until one night a little red AC Cobra stopped when it hit my Long Island Tea.
Well, I picked it up and I was hooked.
After collecting HotWheels and other manufacturers of Diecast for several years I wanted castings in colors that were not produced by the factory.
So, I tore one apart to see what's inside.
I painted it and started buying tool after tool to do the job better.
The rest so they say is history.
