"Font Problem"

I'm operating Windows XP 2000 and using PhotoShop 6.
Nearly all my installed fonts are usable in Photoshop but some do not appear when the program is active.
I'm able to use the ATROX font in Word but it does not appear in my Photoshop 6 menu.
ATROX is a True Type font as are most of my installed fonts.
I copied the file and installed in in Photoshop using Program Files > Common Files> Adobe> but it still does not appear in PhotoShop.

I need this ATROX font for my project since it has squared off corners in the O and S characters.

How can I make this font come up in my PhotoShop 6 menu??????????????????

Are you sure that the font isn't on the list under a different name or in a different location; I know some of my true type fonts show up closer to the bottom of the list in separate categories instead of where they should be alphabetically. You can also try uninstalling the font and reinstalling it.

How would I tell if the ATROX font is in the menu under a different name??

What do you mean "in a different location"??

The font list has the fonts usually from A-Z then there's a horizontal bar and more fonts A-Z, another bar and more fonts...etc. until you run out of fonts. To see if it's under a different name, like perhaps TTF_ATROX, you are going to have to scroll through the list and look for the font.

Thanks,
There are only 2 fonts past the horizontal bar and it's neither of them.
The ATROX font is only installed as a TT font.

Nevermind,

I was able to get the ATROX font to come up in PhotoShop by simply typing in the name of the font in the Font box at the top of the screen.

So for furture reference if a font is installed in your computer but does not show in the PhotoShop drop down menu, you might be able to make use of it with this simple maneuver.

Most programs will allow you to type in the font selection box; usually the way I find fonts I'm looking for.
