Arcade -an idea

I love the addicting games in the arcade - they're the kind i can play! none of this silly game control stuff with fifty buttons just to move forward.

anyway, all the games are simple - which i think is what makes them so addicting and i was talking to rift last night coming up suggestions for games. now i have no concept of how much coding it would take to make something like sheep jumper but between the two of us i was sure we could come up with something.

now i know theres a constant ongoing project to create a major role playing game that would generate money for the forum, but in the meantime i wondered if making our own games would be a good idea - a hobby not a requirement.
maybe we could have a "member created" games section?

i imagine there would have to be some disclaimer similar to those seen in the front of books stating "any resemblence to another game is purely coincidence" or something to that affect. but the games would be (i assume) free to play so even if i make sheep leaper and the creators of sheep jumper say i stole their idea, seeing as im not profiting from it then i doubt it would cause to many problems.

we could think of it as practice and a way of attracting another industry to the forum. we already have the coders, the graphic artists, writers, web page developers and now we could include game developers.

lemme know what you think.

of course it\'s a good idea lol...I\'ll get the info about development from the other forum and post it here. Unfortunately it\'s not an open forum, and we\'re allowed only one membership <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... nnoyed.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Okay here is some of the information from the other forum.

This is a link to a tutorial video on converting flash games ... note that we MUST have the creator\'s permission to do conversions for games not already available at proarcades.

PDF format tutorial for game conversions

flash game tutorials at Tutorialized

flashdeveloper tutorials, scroll down a little bit

layoutgalaxy tutorial

Just remember that they have to be coded to work in ibproarcade mod as outlined in the video & pdf guide.

One other thing, games from these creators are not to be converted, as they will not give permission.

Miniclip games (www.miniclip.com)
eUniverse Games (www.gamerival.com)
Mousebreaker Ltd (http://www.mousebreaker.com & http://www.mousebreaker.co.uk )
Saydesign Games (Saydesign.com)
Teagames (Teagames.com)
http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/
Orisinal games

http://mausland.de/

pnFlash has some ibproarcades modified games, but we need the mod for them first, which will be included in the next release of proarcades, or it can be added now.

exile found a site that has some flash games on it that could be converted (with permission of course)

you could still email them and ask. they will be available to members only, all copyrights and in-game links to their site will remain intact, we will not offer them for downloads.

They should allow it, they have games from other sites also.
