hi i'm using pest patrol as my spyware remover, works fine n all that, just when i turn on the comp, the keylogger part of the program comes up saying it's detected 3 things here's what their called.

Msimtf.dll

idlemon.dll

SnyEvent.dll

i have the option to quraneteen them or mark them as safe, i just aren't sure which to do, last thing i need is to screw up my comp.

does anyone know if they are progs someones planted on the comp to steal pw's n what not? or are they standard files so i can mark them safe?

thanks to anyone who can help

Firstly, run a search on your computer for the DLL's and see where they are kept. For instance, if they are in your My Documents folder, most likely that they are not harmful to your computer.

The next step is to run a search on the internet for any information about those files. Search google, symantec.com and mcafee.

If you have a firewall, check the logs to see if these files have attempted to connect to the internet.

The files are dlls, which means on their own they can't do anything, but combined with a program they may be able to logs pw's etc. but Im not too sure how keyloggers work.

If all that fails, quarantine them and monitor your computer for any unusual problems.

i've searched google for their names and something came up for the SnyEvent.dll file, but it was on a japanses site and unfortunatly i don't know japanese lol

searched for the files on the comp and this is what happened with each file...

Msimtf.dll - Search couldn't find this file lol

idlemon.dll - Search couldn't find this file either lol

SnyEvent.dll - Same as above results lol

i'm stumped, the key patrol seems to find em but the search files doesn't, any ideas at all?
