It\'s obvious that there have to be some changes made and KillaNet\'s direction better defined.

Scott and I were discussing ways to build out, how to integrate the sites into a user-friendly community.

We also need to look at areas of responsibility and having effective people in charge of the various areas.

Staff would be welcome to help out in other areas, but their primary concern is always their area first.

One thing we had discussed was building off of kb, and integrating everything into some type of \"member package\"

While we are doing that, let\'s start thinking what extras we could offer should we choose to implement a subscription system.

DeviantArt is probably the best model to work from, as we are closest to being like them, with the addition of gaming, web scripting and programming.

DA\'s bulk storage system also caught my interest, and is one area where having a server rack would be beneficial to us.

Ideally, we would see our download system and upload system develop into something like DA\'s, sites further integrated into one...killafonts, killablogs, freeware, writers...the key will be having a good sitemap worked out

killacode will most likely remain its own domain
killahosting will most likely remain its own domain
killagaming will always have its own domain
killacafe will be the site for the physical store
killagraphix will be the site it is now, but bigger
killanet will be the one to tie them all together
cauldroncrafts will always be its own site as well, but money from it (after Jenna\'s share for her artwork) will go to support killanet -cauldron\'s costs right now are minimal but that could change if the distribution wholesale thing takes off.

I know I\'m forgetting stuff but I am way past physical and mental exhaustion. Let\'s get this discussion going and keep it going, this is the start of KN\'s future.

I like the idea of the member package and working in something like DA would/should bring in more people, but KN might have to \"lighten\" up on the \"G-Rating\" rule, yes i know some kinds of art is offencive to people but artist dont like being limited to what they can and cant show.

Yes DA has massive storage, but they also have alot of users supporting it, i wouldnt jump to the rack so fast... maybe work in another Decat. Server? or something... jumping to the rack is a good idea, but i just dont think right now tho...

I would love to see something like Da\'s download/upload system, i love the way it works.

Maybe we could work out a deal and get \"sponsored\" with Da, seeing how they are just art, they might be looking for a Company/Place to partner up with that has gaming, programing, scripting and etc.

Maybe its time for yet another staff meeting?

*will add more in a bit, going to get lunch*

I\'ve been thinking about what I mentioned earlier (merging the kb and forum user bases) and I think it would be more feasible to give blogs to those who wanted them (optional via my controls).

At the moment, I think we should get staff sorted out, finish what still needs done, then look at integration of everything. With ipb 2.1 just around the corner, there will be built-in methods to use the member table across other sites and logins which use email\'s instead of names.

What we\'ve been contemplating for staff sounds good, eg the different groups with different roles. 2 main groups would probably be graphics (which could be sub-divided) and coding.

The coding group/department, for example, would be responsible for website and application development and upgrading. They would be the admin team for killacode.com and would keep the site up to date.

The graphics crew would be responsible for graphic and web design throughout the network. They would be the admins the gallery and killagraphix.com keeping both up to date with content.

Each group would require a member of staff leading the team and ensuring each member was involved in one way or the other.

Other groups, such as gaming, are similar. Killadesign.com would be the joint responsibility of whoever was involved, same with KH.

Just some ideas.

Jer, I agree we may have to loosen up the g-rating, but I\'d only be willing to do so on artwork (even then, some would have to be totally prohibited...porn for example), general forum swearing is something I really dislike seeing.

Doubt DA would be willing to setup any sponsor type thing, they\'re big...we\'re small.

Staff meeting sounds like a good idea.

I think that one of the biggest tricks is going to be getting a commitment out of the staff; some I know are committed, they won\'t be a problem. Once we get past the commitment issue, next step will be seeing who will work where.

I agree with scott and jer about the G+ rating, loosening it for the artwork - but certainly not anywhere else. Swearing is not only distasteful, but unproffessional - which is something we need to keep in mind.

I like the idea of breaking up into sections, or 'departments'. It would be a great way to get staff involved - both by increasing individual responsibility and group accountability. It would also serve to lessen the load on tami and scott in particular, as they could take a 'helicopter view' and manage rather than do.

I like the idea of integration, it would be cool to have one login for the whole network, having sites read from either the same db or same cookie.

As for how to integrate, I this it would be cool to have a 'resource' site, which could have freeware, fonts, links database, forums etc. that are atm spread over a number of designs, databases and domains.

It's SAC week for me at the moment, sacs are a cross between a test and exam I guess, but sometime on the weekend should be cool? I think last time we had it Sunday morning my time and shane's time, sometime on saturday for everyone else?

As I said in Admin chat earlier, I don\'t mind easing up on the G rating as far as art goes, but I will not abide by the objectification of women and nudity just for the sake of nudity. The first hint of porn and we go back to a G rating.
The guidelines regarding nudity in work will have to be very clearly written and very strictly enforced.

There will be no easing up on the language at all.

Agreed with the G-rating talk. The idea of a network-login system sounds great. Re-enforcing what trin said, squashing all those sites into one would make things alot easier and cleaner (I think you ment that, at least).

Meeting wise; Ill be away most of the weekend with my dad..next weekend would work for me..sunday morning that is, DAMN TIME-ZONES
