is ram universal?? like: will a type of ram work with every motherboard? or will certain motherboards only accept certain types of ram?

Ram isn't universal. You need to find out what type of ram your motherboard can take, should be listed in your manual.. if your motherboard can handle it, i suggest buying some ddr ram, if it can't, buy a new motherboard that can lol. Seriously though, don't bother buying more sd ram if that's what you have. [color=\"green\"]ok, i found the box and manual after much scrounging around... its a Gigabyte GA-60XET ...which takes PC133 SDRAM ...this is only the family computer...so they can buy a new motherboard for it if they wish...just means ill be buying another one for mine...ahh well...[/color]
