[color=\"green\"]i was just wondering, whilst shopping for more ram...
is ram universal?? like: will a type of ram work with every motherboard? or will certain motherboards only accept certain types of ram?
i am not entirely sure of my motherboards model number, but its a Gigabyte...thats all i know...

Ram isn't universal. You need to find out what type of ram your motherboard can take, should be listed in your manual.. if your motherboard can handle it, i suggest buying some ddr ram, if it can't, buy a new motherboard that can lol. Seriously though, don't bother buying more sd ram if that's what you have. It's worth investing a few extra pennies for a newer motherboard because sd ram is pretty much null and void now

How old is your motherboard? I have a Gigabyte which is a few years old that can take ddr fine

If it's only a family pc then pc133 sd will be fine, can be picked up fairly cheap now. For your own pc though, invest in a ddr compatible motherboard and some sexy ddr400
