Hey all,
Having LOTS of problems here... I don\'t know why it doesn\'t work but it doesn\'t. I\'ve got XAMPP installed and with it comes Mercury/32 Mail Transport System for Microsoft Windows. First I got errors that the server won\'t send non-local emails and I fixed that by disabling the \"Do not send non-local e-mails\" option but now it won\'t send at all... Errors I\'m getting in some window in mercury;

Temporary error 249 (temporary MX resolution error) resolving \'gmail.com\'
Temporary error 249 (temporary MX resolution error) resolving \'killanet.net\'
Temporary error 249 (temporary MX resolution error) resolving \'hotmail.com\'
Temporary error 249 (temporary MX resolution error) resolving \'yahoo.com\'

I\'m assuming my system can\'t resolve the domain names? :\ I don\'t know how the heck to fix this but I\'ve been pulling my hair out since noon and it\'s now almost 7pm. How do I fix this? I\'d *really* like to continue with my registration system, but it just ain\'t happening with this crap going on.

thanks in advanced,
/d

ub3r hax! *helped on msn i think...* /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Recap...

Find your isp website, look for pop3 info for email... find the ip or domain... then open php.ini and look for

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = localhost
smtp_port = 25

then replaced localhost with the info you find /biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> *should work*

ok....we finally got something going.........just my isp I can\'t connect to, I can\'t connect to an alternative isp, and gmail doesn\'t like me -.-

Conclusion; jer\'s method didn\'t work. Now how about we go back to the original way of doing this? How do I get Mercury to resolve the hosts? /blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':blink:\' />
