The books in the "Bible" range are extremely thick, they contain hundreds of pages but as most people know, its quality not quantity that matters, well luckily for this book it contains both quality and quantity in healthy doses. HTML, XHTML and CSS Bible, 3rd edition is a reference manual for anyone interested in learning how to design a website using modern coding methods, however as a bonus to the fact that it acts as a coders reference manual (giving detailed information about every tag and element which can be used) the books give a good step by step guide to implementing them into your design. For those starting out in web design they may find this book quite wordy as it gives an extremely large flow of information on how to maximize the usage of the technologies which are available. It also explains the pro's and con's of every method of implementing different technologies into your pages.
Not only does this book contain a step by step process to creating a website of your very own AND act as an extensive manual to using the languages of HTML, XHTML and CSS it also gives detailed information on working with 3rd party plug-in's, interactive elements such as forms and more importantly gives details on making your pages maintain accessibility and usability. This book therefore contains everything you will need to get started in website development. Though reading everything can take longer then making the actual website, learning the skills which are adopted in this book will give you an understanding on how website design has progressed over the years and be the answer to almost every basic question you may have on the subject.
