Not sure if this is right place for this, but if it's not I'm sure someone will move it lol.....

I have a fairly new job working for an internet based company stationed in my city. The owner hired me and another guy "druggie"( <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /crazy.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(crazy)\' /> ) as I like to call him. The guy has no brain left, and I really don't know why he was hired, but he is pointless. One day, I was out for the morning; so, the owner was the only other person there to watch "druggie." Well, The owner expressed to me that he saw the guy lookin at myspace multiple times <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... usted2.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(bustd)\' />. Nothing came of it that afternoon other than my agravation with the guy.<img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... Debate.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(debate)\' />
The next day, "druggie" goes to get on myspace, and I look over and he is at the site of the store. I keep watching and this is what I saw him doing:

1) open Internet Explorer
2) type in the address to myspace
3) hits "enter" (yes he has to think to hit "enter"... it takes him about 20 seconds to realize he has to
hit "enter")
4) The Browser takes him to the site for our company from a simple login page (the login page is part of our
site but it's on a different server)
5) gives confused look and closes out..... repeats back to step 1 ... loop until druggie gets a brain (infinity)

<img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/pwnd.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(pwnd)\' />

So I was killing myself laughing becuase I know that the owner tampered with it. He expressed his belief to me that druggie wasn't going to be able to go to myspace anymore. He didn't tell me what he did, just told me that he fixed that problem.

After all that ramble.... how the hell did the owner do that?! It's freakin halarious, but interesting. Anyone Know what he did?

HOSTS file, perhaps... or a third party monitor script. I'm leaning towards third party NetNanny type software, personally.

I guess I should add that the address to myspace stays in the address bar.... btw just for the record I HATE THAT FREAKIN SITE! <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... Debate.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(debate)\' />

netnanny... I guess it's possible, but I saw him leave and I saw him come back... it couldn't have been but a minute that he did it. Maybe he did a remote access becuase he does that with the server all the time. ... I don't know, but it was damn funny!

What I want to know is why would anyone want to access EmoSpace, sorry Myspace. Not unless they themselves are Emo and are feeling depressed because they saw their boyfriend kissing another boy and want to cut their wrists.

Remember Emo kids, down the motorway, not across the streets. Make it count!

Anyone want to join my Emo band? It has the greatest name ever. Self-cradling love shaped lung box of romance of dissolusion at the disco of matchbook heart ache.

Only reason why I Use MySpace is because I need to stay in touch with my friends. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> I'm not one of those maniacs that update their page with like thousands of polls or surveys and load it heavily with music and videos :S Mine's just a regular profile lol.

Wasnt instant messaging and e-mail invented for staying in touch with freidns? I just dont understand why people would want to fill their boring existance (myself included) by reading about other peoples boring existance. The techno-phobes are right, the internet is killing of good forms of communication. Man spent millions of years creating inteligent and meaning full ways of comunicating, such as writting and speech, only for the internet to come along and thrust upon us the ever anoying leet speech. It comes to something when people are using it in every day conversation, and trust me it happens. Ive over heard people using it in conversation and its just as anoying in real life as it is on the internet. Sorry for the rant <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... histle.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(whistle)\' />

lol, I don't read their myspace..all it has is a bunch of surveys and crap. I only use the messaging feature on it because they either a.) don't know WHEN to check their e-mail or b.) don't want to use IM's and c.) because they're constantly on there every waking moment of their teenaged lives! <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Because generally it is funny to laugh at what other people interpret life as. Some people put a humourous spin on their otherwise boring lives like this guy

Me? I rant and rave about how Coles is so, so wrong.

Same here. Most of my friends are either too dumb to download an I.M. or their stupid and just dont want too.
And if you play your cards right Myspace can be an okay networking site. Alot of buisnesses take advantage of advertizing on myspace. But now...Myspace's website structure and the way that its coded...<img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... av-242.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(exx)\' /> Its rediculous. They're always having problems!
