Well firstly I will state I have still not got an email from the photo owner, although the image is royalty free, the owner requested an email before any further use. With no reply, I feel I can post it here, seeing how you need to be a memeber to view this area and to the fact that im giving him full credit. The photo itself said alot, it appealed to me before I decided to even alter it.

I think the colour contrasts go well with each other, for starters I had the eyes and the background the same, but then decided on the rust colour as a better option in the background. Theres nothing really much to say, I think the photo really does all the work and my additions just give it something extra, but the picture has really captured alot of emotion. The swirly background and overlapping, full kudos to Scully7941 from prettybrush =)!

Anyway, here it is; (be sure if your screen resolution is small to view the image at full size!) Poignant & Volatile

Constructive criticism, thanks.

OK, I'll try and give you some C&C on this one. First off I'll say I like this image, its a pretty cool one but I reckon you can get some more out of it cus Ive seen your work before <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' /> First off I think the swirls over on the right hand side might look better if they were not blurred and then set on a lowered opacity or differant blending style. I like the blue eye on the mans face, the way it stands out on such a colourless background makes for a nice effect. Did you try it as that same rusty colour from the right hand side of the image? It might be worth trying to keep in theme with the other colours. The sirls on the left hand side of the face would look cool if they looked like a tatoo, in a kind mauri/tribal marking with the markings below his eyes as a kind of face/war paint.

I definatly think this is an image worth doing some more on to better reflect your skills and create a good peice of digital art.

Thanks to@d! I think I tried the right hand swirls not blurred (aswell as not using the Twist filter) and blurred them so that they somewhat mixed in with the \'glow\' if you will surrounding his face, giving it some depth. With the black smears beneath the eye, i stole that from one of my other pieces (devilish) just because it looks cool, I originally just had one to make it look like black, somewhat tears. I did try the eye as the rust colour, but I agree with you; it makes it stand out more, I think it creates the focal point of the image.

But thanks; Im going to have another play with it later and see what more I can get out of it; will post =)
