Okay, so wouldn't we like to have just 1tb of memory right? How does 50tb sound? Thats right, Harvard Medical researchers are using a light sensitive protien that has the possibility to be coated on a DVD-sized disc, and hold up to 50TB(eat that sony and your support of Blu-Ray). The scientists are planning to release the (no prototyped) drive and discs within 1-2 years, and a 50TB usb jump drive a year after. Now...I only have one question for these people....Can you make a program that will use this 50TB jump drive as RAM?? PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!

LOL! 50Tb of ram ftw!

interesting how everything is getting bigger... and more things are becoming obselete... in a few years we\'ll be like \"a mb? yeah, i remember them we used to have files SO small... that they would only take up a few of them. why back in the day we had CPU\'s that were measured in mhz!\"

nice find TGF /good.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(Y)\' />

I remember the days of 3'4" floppy drives, and my first HDD over a GB!

386 power!

But it will be nice to have disc's that can fit terabytes of information on. Where did you hear this? Can you point us to an article about it?

I barely use 20gigs or space, and a lot of that is cause I\'m to lazy to delete stuff. Don\'t really see this coming into PCs for a while, but I\'m sure some servers could probably use this.

How can you barely use 20gb of space? My South Park collection(every ep) is 22gb alone! Stuff like this is heaven sent for a file whore like me. Ive got a 70gb HDD in my laptop that I keep at about 50% full, and a 200gb external which has 178gb used up on it. You can never have enough storage. Come to think of it though, I dont even know how Ive got it so full, might be time for a spring (yeah I know its Autumn) on my external.

yeah at times it can be difficult to have everything on your computer take up less than 20gb of space. I\'ve been doing it for years now lol.

I keep all the programs i write (source and compiled versions) my photoshop works, and a large list of programs (OGRE, OpenGL, Widgets, Photoshop, Code::Blocks, ect) and all the programs i have, i use all the time.
