[b]Nintendogs Cements Nintendo's Position As Leader Of Handheld Video Games[/b]

[b]25th November 2005 ? [/b]Nintendo has always led the way in innovation, ever since it first entered the handheld gaming arena over 25 years ago. As the end of 2005 approaches, not only do Nintendo continue to make the best selling handheld machines on the market, they are also expanding the gaming audience with total portable video game machine sales increasing year on year.

This year saw the launch of an all-new console, the Nintendo DS, with over 2 million consumers across Europe already having purchased one. For the last three weeks, sales of Nintendo DS exceeded 100,000 units per week, and last week alone sales topped 120,000 across Europe.

Hit releases like Nintendogs are also having a massive impact on Nintendo's hand-held popularity, reaching new gamers and creating an overnight phenomenon. Since its launch on October 7th in Europe, over 1 million copies of the game have been sold. Nintendogs has become like gold dust across Europe with stocks flying off shelves as soon as they arrive in store.

Mario Kart DS has now launched and is the first Nintendo game to offer Wi-Fi gaming through the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. With the combination of Mario Kart fun and simple Wi-Fi play, sales of Nintendo DS are expected to accelerate into Christmas.

The Nintendo DS is available for around ?89. Mario Kart DS is available now at the estimated retail price of around ?30 and the Mario Kart Pak (including a copy of Mario Kart DS and a silver Nintendo DS) is available at the estimated retail price of around ?99.

Interesting... When I first saw Nintendogs on G4TechTV broadcasting E3, my jaw dropped at the originality of this game and how smart this game is. What do you guys think of this "game"?

[b][color=\"#FF0000\"]Okay, well I dunno what that Translates to in price over in the American Dollar, but I'm pretty sure its around $40 for Nintendogs or Mario Kart DS, $120 for the Nintendo DS, and $165 for both the DS and a Game. A few thigns I would like to mention though. Nintendogs is amazingly popular. I'm not getting sucked into the fad but that maybe because I haven't tried it yet, i almsot did, but couldn't even figure out how to start it at Best Buy. My friend did and I litterally had to pull him away from it, he was hooked in a matter of 2 minutes. Now for an FYI, I said it was around $165 for the DS & one of the games. Here is a tip for those of you that are going to get a DS now for these games. Wait till Monday the 28th of November like I am to get the NEW Hot Rod Red Nintendo DS WITH Mario Kart DS for $150, which is a $15 savings. It also comes with decals to style your DS. Nintendo purposely delayed the sale of this Bundle Pack 2 weeks AFTER Mario Kart DS came out to catch uninformed shoppers off guard and make up that extra $15. Nintendogs also has a Bundle Pack that came out a while ago that came out with the Light Blue DS. All the colors to choose from for the DS as far as I know ar Silver, Cobalt Blue, Light Blue (Nintendogs), Hot Rod Red (Mario Kart DS). I heard there was a 5th color but I have not seen it.[/color][/b]
