[b][i][color=\"gray\"][font=\"tahoma\"]I have a virus saved in one of my system restore points, and whenever i leave my PC idle, it detects the virus trying to run from the restore point, only one prob, as far as i know, the system restore files are completely invisible (except to maybe DOS) and when i scan to remove it doesnt actually DETECT anything.

Its not a real problem, its just annoying having a virus warning when i leave my PC idle.

Delete the resotre point and make a new one <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' />

If your sys restore files are not hidden, AVG should clean them for you. Your sys restore files are in your root C drive in a folder named System Volume Information. Alternately, deleting that restore point *should* also fix the problem, as redrum stated.

If you don't see the folder:

[b]Windows XP Professional and Home Edition - FAT32 File System[/b]

In Windows Explorer click [b]Tools>>Folder Options[/b]
Click the [b]View[/b] tab, click [b]Show Hidden Files and Folders[/b]
Clear [b]Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)[/b] check box.
Click [b]Yes[/b] on the change confirmation box and click [b]OK[/b] to exit.
Double-click the System Volume Information folder to open.

Click the [View] tab, click [b]Show Hidden Files and Folders[/b]

Click [b]Yes[/b] on the change confirmation box and click [b]OK[/b] to exit.
Right-click the System Volume Information folder in the root folder.
Click [b]Properties[/b] and select the [b]Security tab[/b]. Click [b]Add[/b]
Enter the name of the user you are allowing access to the folder.
Click [b]OK[/b], and then click [b]OK[/b].
Double-click the System Volume Information folder to open.

or just turn sys restore off, run in safe mode and youre on easy street. oh btw, scan in safe mode <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

If its anything like mine, all i had to do was turn off sys restore, it deletes all the files from C:_RESTORE and its gone =)
