Buena Vista Home Ent.'s CARS easily lapped the competition to take the #1 slot on the national DVD sales charts for the week ending Nov. 12, 2006, according to THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER. Nearly five million DVDs were sold in its first two days.
CARS also finished #2 on Home Media Retailing's video rental chart for the week, generating an estimated $9.2 million. Paramount's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III, held the top rental spot, garnering $9.3 million, a decline of only 17% from its premiere week in stores.
