That topic was getting quite big.

Here's my breakdown on what we covered in the brainstorm and what will need to be included in this site.

Looks good. You have included everything lol. Also looks like a good 'first step' into development.

Re: edit comments - the person who made that comment needs to be able to edit their own comments as well, even if it's just for a limited time like say 5 minutes. Many hate the fact that they don't notice a typo or get an emote code wrong, or use the wrong name when talking to someone, or miss closing a coding tag until after they've posted the comment. Being able to fix that error will be an important factor.

We need to come up with more features than just additional galleries for subscribers.

I am still trying to come up with a catchy, easy-to-remember-easy-to-type name, if anyone thinks of a possibility, lemme know - don't search names on any domain purchase sites, I don't trust them to not be monitored. NS and I searched a name one night for a hosting client, the name was available. By the time the client got back to us about the name, it had been purchased. The search wasn't done on our own domain sales site, as far as I remember - but it was godaddy who had the name registered when we went to buy it.

I will have to read that list again when I am not feeling so tired HAHAHA, but so far it looks good.

If I'm thinking logically here lol... Couldn't we just do a domain whois on a domain we want to try? If it comes up with results it means it is taken and if we get no results then it means it's free lol.

Okay...tasks at hand for me include contacting PSIgate in regards to a proper payment gateway. We need to be able to have that, but also paypal. Are there any other web-pay sites that should be looked at as an option along with paypal and psigate? I believe psigate is also a paypal gateway. Not sure. Guess I should go check. I will give David (our print rep) a call today and see how he is making out with the list of things to do which came out of the meeting I had with him and our other print rep - can't remember his name, bad I know.

Also need to look at how the store can be run, how the artists will submit work for products, how we will pay them - by the way, it won't be the way dA does it with dA dollars. That is useless when the artist is trying to make some money. Also need to look at community-type projects, contests, prizes - which will mean developing some contacts outside of the gaming and animation industry here. Although my software contacts should prove helpful. Need some more tradeshows to go to.

oooooooooooooooooo I just had an idea....bwahahahaha....I will have to ponder it. No, don't worry, it doesn't involve putting on a tradeshow. Even though I could. I know how to do that. And make money at it. Heh.

2Checkout, Authorize.net and NOCHEX are all supported by the subscriptions manager out of the box.

Hmm...okay will have to look into those. The main problem is in regards to where the company's bank account is for receiving payments. If they don't allow any non-USA accounts, we're hooped. PSIgate is Canadian, so that won't be an issue.

Also...another addition for user accounts - calendars - both dA and facebook have them for users to add to their pages. Facebook allows events to be added to the calendar by the user. I don't know if dA does, because I haven't enabled that feature on my page. This could be a useful feature especially if artists are going to be releasing calendars or books, or attending exhibitions, etc. It would give them one more way to promote themselves and their activities.

Another for your list - finding an advertising publisher network. Googling adsense alternative gives plenty of options, we just need to find a decent one.
