Wood Workshop [freeware]

Post by Tami »

The Wood Workshop is a free seamless texture editor that specializes in the creation of seamless wood textures. As well as providing the graphics community with a great freeware tool for making tiling wood textures.

Visit the Wood Workshop gallery for examples of textures made with the Wood Workshop.

As well as being perfectly seamless, the Wood Workshop's textures are resolution-independent, and can be rendered up to a whopping resolution of 3000 x 3000.

System Requirements
Operating System Windows 2000/XP
Processor Pentium III 450 MHz
Memory 256 MB
Hard Disk 6 MB*

* More space will be required if the .NET Framework is not already installed (see below for details). In addition, if you plan on routinely rendering textures at resolutions of 1024 by 1024 or higher, we recommend you have your Windows page file set to a minimum size of 2000 MB or more.

.NET Framework Requirement

The Wood Workshop requires the Microsoft .NET Framework (any version) to be installed on your computer. The Wood Workshop installer can set this up for you if needed, although newer computers come with it already installed.

During installation the Wood Workshop may ask if you would like the installer to automatically download and install version 1.1 of the .NET Framework. Selecting "yes" may take some time on a slower connection. If you would like to install the framework manually, you may do so from this site. You may check to see if the framework is installed by looking for its entry in the Add/Remove Programs section of the Windows Control Panel.
