Domain Renewals

I\'m starting to get the 90 days\' until expiry renewal notices for our domains, so it\'s time to start deciding on what\'s staying and what\'s going, as I am trying to reduce our overhead on unnecessary costs.

All TCN sites are going, I am not renewing them
All OneStop domains are going, I am not renewing them

GraphixGround--do we keep it or move tutorials to tutorials.killanet.net? If we renew it, I am only renewing GG.com not GG.net

NetworxRadio--keep or move to radio.killanet.net or scrap it altogether?

RateMyIQ--not renewing

Laughter On Tap--undecided, but would sort of like to keep it for a learning site. Either way, we own a joke script *sigh*

All \"Killa\" sites will be renewed.

I think networx is starting to get a little dated, I know jeremy was trying to put some life into it, and i\'ve started streaming my radio quite often, but I thnk the interest is going now, so we could either re-design it (more work /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />) or let it go.
laughterontap I think we could do something with, maybe after a major redesign we could setup newsletters etc, there were a few people signed up to those while I was workng on it, I thnk it could be a good site for lots of things, as its not too much of a specific name.. graphixground I really don\'t know, I think if we get more tuts on there it\'ll be more deserving of its own tld...

Agree with tcn and osc. GG im unsure about, I would be tempted to drop it and move tutorials over. Networx I say drop altogether, it certainly has died out now even though I\'m sure jer would like to work on it. LOT I would renew if you feel its going to be successful - I honestly am not sure about it, but a learning site is a good idea.

Agree with above, however I don't think LOT needs to be renewed. I think its worth the time and effort to get area51.kg set up properly so that it can be used for testing/learning - i have a few ideas regarding this but i wanna run em by scott first.

yes, but LOT *could* ultimately bring in some advertising dollars, and dollars is what we need right now. If Greg would stop being a pain in the keister we could move ahead with advertising promotions and open killahosting but there\'s no point in it right now if he\'s going to keep pounding the server /cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

We might want to rethink not renewing onestopdomains.net. I just got a cheque from Wild West Domains for 30.00 US for commissions earned by people buying domains through us. While it\'s not alot of money, I guess it could be alot more if we actually promoted the site. Too bad it\'s got that icky name though. This cheque will cover half of our hosting costs for the month lol -- it\'s a start /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

I see it as, the more domains we drop for subdomains, the less money spent later renewing the domains..also

GraphixGround-- i say move it... yes i know it was one of the first domains that started everything, but when i think of \"Graphix Ground\" i think of graphix not tutorials and no \"Tutorial Ground\" doesnt have the same \"ring\" to it /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

NetworxRadio-- yes i know i was put in \"charge\" of this, and it seemed to fall apart from then... , i tried putting a design together and everything but it kind of lost interest..., i streamed almost everyday up untill greg got a hold of my ip, now i stream for just a few hours a day instead of all day, i would say drop the domain and just subdomain that way its not eatting money every month, that way after i learn more php and such i (and/or if anyone wants to help) can throw together a \"Professional Radio\" site thats worth visting on the daily basis...

Laughter On Tap-- from what i noticed from some of the other joke sites, they seem to get alot of traffic... might be worth keeping...

I have mixed feelings on GraphixGround, but mostly because of the banner that\'s on it /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

I would like to see as much as possible built into killanet, but one site I am not going to let go of is killagraphix. So I guess the question is, move tutorials to kg or kn. Obviously I\'ll change the layout to match which site it\'s on, although the forum skin will most likely be changing when Dave & I have time to make a new one.

We can move the radio to a subdomain, that won\'t be a problem.

Laughter On Tap, I never liked the domain name, I\'m sure we can come up with a better one or move it to humour.kn.net.

We still own a redirect script for free url forwarding as well, the one that was used on bootme.to, and no I won\'t be renewing either of the forwarding domains.

I guess consolidation is the term of the month; I am hoping that by doing this everything will be easier to manage.

I was thinking, with all this cojoining of sites..if we kept say all the staff on killagraphix; that way subdomains on KN would be for like the ecards (if that goes there) LOT and other things, whilst keeping the staff pages seperate..could be easier for organisizng things, bw monitoring etc, eg. seeing how much kn with its ... services bring in etc?
