In my opinion, Python is the best language for anyone new to programming. Python relies on exact syntax and whitespace (indenting) which means that it sets up habits that will benefit you a lot in many other langauges.

I might try it out later... but atm: C++ all the way /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> ... its realy fun to learn C++. Is Python better? And is it easier?

As a first language, I think that Python would certainly be easier than C++, again simply for the fact that whitespace is part of its syntax, and getting into the habit of using whitespace correctly which will help with indenting in C++

Python is a good language to start with in some ways (Mainly because it's simple), but in other ways it's not so good.

Python will get you used to things such as indentation, but it's missing other important aspects of some of the major languages such as strict variable types, for example:
