Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively. More generally, Cooperative Linux (short-named coLinux) is a port of the Linux kernel that allows it to run cooperatively alongside another operating system on a single machine. For instance, it allows one to freely run Linux on Windows 2000/XP, without using a commercial PC virtualization software such as VMware, in a way which is much more optimal than using any general purpose PC virtualization software. In its current condition, it allows us to run the KNOPPIX Japanese Edition on Windows (see [url=\"http://www.colinux.org/?section=screenshots\"]Screenshots[/url]).

So you can use both because alot of software isn't compatible with Linux <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />.

Well if you want to run win32 software wouldnt wine or similar linux software help, instead of mixing 2 os's?

wine only works to an extent. it's designed to emulate predefined types of code, not all programs will work under wine. I think I'll try and download this version of linux too, since im constantly coding, it will be nice to be able to run it into the linux environment to test a program and make it cross compatible, instead of having a dual boot or two machines. thanks for the info =)
