well a whole lotta points have been raised beyond the original post by hoax - which is great, just makes for looooong replies.
in response to the post issue, i'd also say dont ban them, just wait and see how it works out, even i go through phases where i wont want to even go online and post and others where i cant get enough of chatting with people and posting new pictures. not that im making excuses for them, but many could just be busy with other things right now.
well, as to the others - there were so many! so i thought i'd give a progress report, i dont have any particular assigned task except to try and come up with things for shy in the ecard section . i've come up with several new backgrounds and maybe a card, they need a lot of work right now so im not sure when they'll be available. other than that my progress has been to keep up to date with the board and try to involve myself as much as i can. i am more than happy to give help to anyone needing it - but you all know i cant code my way out of a can of peas let alone the things you come up with! if i do have any skills you think i can offer, please feel free to ask.
while i am expecting puppies soon (and i do consider this my job along with keeping the house semi-clean) i know i use this as an excuse not to do as much work around here in graphics as i could. while, hopefully in a week i will be very distracted with puppies, i am getting better at finding the time to learn with bryce and photoshop.
well, theres my hopefully not to long winded post (not that the others were) . other than that, expect to be flooded with puppy pictures soon /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

The project manager script has been installed. The following people have accounts already set up:

To login, go here:

http://area51.killanet.net/project/index.php

Sign in with your name the way it is listed above, your password will (should) match your killanet email password. If it doesn\'t, message me and I will tell you what password is on your Area51 account.

The Main group can view all \"public\" killanet projects. Some projects will have access limited to those working on said project such as scripts, sites, games, etc. You can use the project manager script for KN projects as well as projects you\'re working on with another staff member. This is not a public site, and is to remain accessible to staff only. As always, the admins can see all /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

The skull psd which I have has been uploaded into the Files area. If you are unsure what something does, the help files appear to be well written.

i didnt really think users should be flused, it was just an idea. What i dont get is howcome none of them appear on the online list.(ever)
well not to my knowledge, everytime i was online i didnt not see any of those people online or browsing through the site.
What i\'m thinking is maybe send them an email asking if they are still viewing the forum or if they even know if the forum is active coz some were moved from graphix ground and may have not realised it.

Dunno what that's supposed to mean, obviously we all have our own things going on but patience is a virtue. Now that exams are over I will be able to finish it off, as you can see the new layout is up and the back-end is starting to come together (anyone with ftp access will notice that the whole site is coded in OOP PHP - a first thus far for Killanet). Now that most of the auth system is coded the hard stuff is done, its just a matter of plugging it into the pages etc and coding the admin part /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

For anyone who has been wondering what has been going on, here are some screenshots of some of the page mockups:

Looking good trin...cept for all those flowers /blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Perhaps we could come up with a variety of icons to use instead of having so much of one image? Just a suggestion
And I\'m going to hold you to that \"live by Christmas\" too /blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Heh im doing my best scott.
Yes codecrypt uses a background image, it's 191 bytes in size however. To put that figure in perspective, the new killanet layout that i got sent uses 41 images for a total size of 175 kilobytes (which is around 179,200 bytes). The reason that the old CC had bandwith issues was because it had even more images on the page than the new KN layout.

As for the backend, I was unaware that any other sites used OOP for most of their system, I was merely pointing out that it was taking a little longer because of this...

If anyone else has some ideas for more icons (other than the flower ones) that fit in with that theme, send me a pm.
