You've heard of Myst, Quake and Tomb Raider, but how many people remember Obsidian, Grim Fandango and Under A Killing Moon?

These computer software titles are probably too obscure to even warrant a trivia question. They were underappreciated when they were released, and, thanks to the quirks of the computer business, they have little chance of being rediscovered the way a really good (or really bad) movie can, over time, achieve the status of a classic.

In this digital age, products typically become instant hits or they're forgotten - and usually forgotten quickly. Even if they linger long enough to build a cult following, operating systems evolve so quickly that an older game can become unplayable - or even uninstallable - on a newer PC.

That's why someone should create a Museum of Ancient and Underappreciated Computer Games, with exhibits that consist of the software and the machines that run them, carefully preserved for the ages.
