And do you know what these words mean?

If not, take a look at the online "Living Dictionary" that Collins officially launched this week.

The aim is to keep English language up-to-date by bringing more everyday words into it.

Every person who wishes to see a new word enter the dictionary can submit it to the new internet site created by Collins editors.

Providing enough people can agree on the meaning and that there is evidence of ongoing use, then the word is included in the online dictionary and could even be considered for the next published hard copy edition.

"There is already a huge interest and the number of words submitted is running into the hundreds", Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Butterfield told Reuters.

"Everyone can contribute their expertise to the English language and a huge amount of knowledge can be shared this way", he added.

Mobile phone addicts can also submit texting abbreviations with definitions.
