Umm, i'd say not bad, but image ready has done all the work for you there, lol. When actually get around to coding your own layouts, you want to try and avoid big images down the sides and across the bottom like that, instead use a 1x high/wide image that you can tile as the background. Saves on bandwidth and loading times /good.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(Y)\' />

ive always coded my own layouts before but i keep hearing people saying that they were slicing pages so i figured id do it, what's image ready? is that what you call the slicing tool in photoshop? lol. as for loading times i had someone on dialup load look at the page and it took about 2 seconds for all the images to load.. and i have enough bandwidth:)

btw i figure since it was my first, as i go along ill use simple solid colours that can be filled with a table cell, so it's not an image, or a gradient that i can just use a small Gif file to fill it with, just tile it vertically, that way i only have a few images making up the shape, kinda like how msn uses that sharkFin image everywhere:P

Image Ready is the program that usually comes with PhotoShop, if you look in the source of the pages you generated when slicing, you'll see:
<!-- ImageReady Slices (Untitled-1) -->
Meaning PS/IR generated the page for you /bigwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />

About:
lol. as for loading times i had someone on dialup load look at the page and it took about 2 seconds for all the images to load.. and i have enough bandwidth:)
Be honest here, would you rather people were downloading a 5-10kb image or a 1kb tiled image? You may have enough bandwidth to spare but you should get my point here /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

But still, I don't mean to take anything away from you here, it's always a good thing when people do their first of anything. But there's always a few things you can learn on the way. I'm just trying to help, not put you off /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> /good.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(Y)\' />

Here's a revised version of the slice, i spent a good amount of time on making it use images only as a way of shaping the page, and i filled it in with colored table cells as much as possible. anyhow it's much smaller, the only large file on there is the banner i have sliced up at the top.
