I just finished putting together version 1.1 of the wallpaper changer. This version update addresses the following issues:
1) Users no longer will have to reboot to receive the new wallpapers
2) No more freezing while downloading wallpapers (an issue particularily for dial-up users)
3) No more funny minimize maximize dance when the program opens from a click on an associated .kwp file
4) Should now install the appropriate files for Win 98, ME ..users
Anyways, that\'s the changes in a nutshell, thanks to everyone who pointed out the bugs <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
As well it was great to see such great wallpapers for the first wallpaper competition! <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

KillaNet Wallpaper Changer version 1.1
woops!
I changed the download protocol in version 1.1 and this caused a little issue.
Version 1.1 will not download any new wallpapers. I realized this about 5 minutes after releasing version 1.1 for download
version 1.2 is now the current one available for download and this issue is fixed.
So...
If you are one of the few people that downloaded version 1.1 in the last hour.... it is useless, and my apologies!
You can download version 1.2 at the usual place

lmoao! ....... um.... it took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about.....that would stand for Old Association (ie. what .kwp files were associated with before the wallchanger was installed) as apposed to CurAss (current association).
Glad to hear it\'s working on your end. If you have version 1.1 it will work exactly once and here\'s why ....
The new protocol I used for downloading in version 1.1 will NOT overwrite files by default. When the program is installed there is NOT a file called \"info.dat\" in the install folder. This means that on it\'s first run it will download the settings info from the server and save it as the \"info.dat\" successfully. It then opens that info.dat file and compares it to the oldinfo.dat file to see if the user needs the new wallpaper or if the user already has it and downloads it accordingly. Once it performs the actions the data from info.dat is written to oldinfo.dat. However, that\'s the end of version 1.1 because now that a \"info.dat\" file exists, on next connection to the server, the download of the info.dat file will fail because it will not overwrite the existing one. So the info.dat file will remain the same forever and ever and ever .... and the user gets no new wallpapers <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> .... hope that makes sense....lol
At any rate, this is not an issue in version 1.2 ... the fix was as simple as Kill App.Path & \"\info.dat\" before downloading the new file <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
