Rift & nem are starting to market their software to schools. The schools will need webspace for stuff if they don\'t already have it, so I was pondering maybe some kind of special plan with a promotional code which they will get when they purchase any of Sage-Web\'s software.

Sounds like a good idea, need to think how we could integrate it, but it shouldn\'t be a large problem.

not sure how many schools get free webspace from the govt (good point jeremy) but I\'m sure the private schools have to pay for their own. I\'m not sure what context they\'re marketing their programmes to the schools, if it\'s for teacher use or if it\'s for classroom use. We could just put a txt file in with the software, and use one \"coupon\" number for sage-web software products, that way we know where that referral came from.

There is a \"refered by\" space on the order form for KH. They could use this to insert an ID we\'d give sage-web. Then when we check that its a valid ID we can change their order accordingly. The problem I can see is that we\'d need to be active to change their order, which would mean that they would get the paypal link for the full price - could we refund?
Also, is a school going to be able to use paypal? I don\'t know how that would work.

Schools are just a part of it, there\'s clubs, teams, associations etc who won\'t get free space. Isn\'t there a place in the paypal purchase thing to put in promotional codes, then with that code entered it offers them the discount right away, then the account can be set up automatically kind of & then when someone\'s around it can be set properly. Did that make sense? No? Keep studying your Gemini Translation Manuals then.
