Introducing Orby

I have been mulling over how to introduce Orby to the KillaNet family, and I think I\'ve come up with a way...I\'m just not sure on the logistics of it.

My idea is this:

What if we have Orby peeking over banners, or his shoes sticking out from under a banner or menu, or peeking around something, or his hands sticking out holding a paintbrush or other items; maybe even little animations of him peeking up and then hiding.

We could see how long it takes people to notice, and as we get closer to fully introducing him, have him be a bit braver.

Just a 2:30am idea....what do you all think of it? Variations? Logistics? Item #1 on the list is swearing Josh to secrecy.

Lol i think thats a cool idea! Lol, every say day, we shift a various body part of his around the forum, or something, would be hilarious! Perhaps even a flash image with just the outline, or images with orby, but nearly fully blurred, with smart arse things beside it (all G rated of course)

I have no idea; it\'ll take awhile to get some files together and then we need to have him floating around the sites for a bit, someone mentioned having him appear when gaming opens

Alrighty then...Josh is 100% sold on the idea; he is sworn to secrecy and will help some with the animations/swf\'s. There are so many possibilities we could do with orby....make banners that match the post background grey and have Orby fade in/fade out, look like he\'s peeking up from the bottom of a thread--or from the sidebar.

I like the idea of having a really fast animation of just a black blur with red laces zooming across the screen, or Orby\'s hand sticking out holding little signs with messages.

All of the animations will be of the non-looping kind so that Orby disappears.

We could really have alot of fun with this, and drive people (especially nem) absolutely crazy because they won\'t know what it is. The whole idea is to get people looking through the sites for Orby appearances (and increase our pageviews at the same time)

I have the Orby master files, as does Jeremy (I think) so if any of you need them, just ask...Josh also has the master file.

I also told Josh that if he can keep what he\'s doing a secret, and helps us with a successful Orby launch, I\'ll promote him to KDC, which is something that he really wants--offering him small perks as reward for working I think will keep him interested and working hard on stuff--but we\'ll see--he\'s made loads of improvements, I\'d like to see him continue in that direction.

Thats a fantastic idea! Maybe put a bit of him in a banner competition entry and see if anyone notices?
