Choosing Skins & Other Stuff

We are going to be adding more skins to give our members more choice, here is your chance to have a say in what we add.

Would you like to have the invision stock skin as a choice, would you like a lighter KillaNet themed skin added....let us know what you would like to see; you can also add suggestions for new sections, changes to sections, whatever you want.

We are considering adding a Graphics Tutorial section right here on the forum instead of on GraphixGround. Tutorials would then be added in like a regular post, you would have a chance to ask questions, discuss the tutorials, etc. GraphixGround would then become the freeware downloads site for KillaNet-made graphics files.

Let us know what your thoughts are

I would love to use other skins(darker ones) i dont care to much for the default skin, but might as well add it lol, i also would like to Vote Shane for making the new skins ^.^
Maybe we can have a monthy/bi-monthy contest for ipb skins, and the winner can have their skin added the \"skin pool\"

As for the tutorials i think thats a good idea, then people can post comments, asking for help and etc

Some people like lighter coloured skins, that is why we\'re going to offer the stock skin as a choice, then as time permits we can make/add more skins if that is what our members would like to see.

The stock IPB skin is just annoying... I would stear clear of it so we can maintain some form of professionalism. Being a graphic group and all, we should be able to come up with our own skins, yaknow?
How about a lighter version of this one... add a little white into each colour to bring it up some...
For those of you with no concept of colour mixing:
Black + White == Grey
Red + White == Pink

HAHAHAHA,....love the new "do" nightstorm lol
i reallllllly like the idea of turning graphix ground into a download section and the tutorials on a forum base....i know i must skip some parts when i write them and would be happy to answer any questions....this also seems to be a feature on many graphics sites out there with tutorials. plus, people can add their work after following a tutorial.

as for changing skins, sounds great....not to sure what colors etc, so userx's idea of a monthly competition to generate the skins sounds really good.

even if there is a chance of a pink skin winning lol :S

Is CSS editing and image changing the only things involved in making a new skin? If so I'll give it ago.

Yes, however some areas are linked to others in the CSS, so care has to be taken in what colours are put for which areas. I think we\'ve tweaked our CSS quite a bit to change some of this but I\'m sure that Vulture can explain it better, as he is the one who does the IPB tweaking.

We do have a full psd file as well as a full .gif file of all the forum images. (warning, the psd file is rather large)

I'd have a go.. depending on what it involves, maybe stretch it to two months, and someone could write a tutorial for the people who dont know how to do a skin so then everyone is given the chance to participate.
