Top Bar?

Like/dislike? It would be nice to put this on all of the major sites, very similar to what other networks do. Problem is that its hard to update.

Don't understand how it'd be hard to update? Just one file to include at the top of every page?

What kind of content will we be looking to have on it though? Obviously our name and possibly logo (won't look too good small). A drop down jump-menu with links to all network sites? And maybe a text advertising link or something? Well, if we went with a dropdown menu, we\'d probably want to go with something java-like (on mouseover effects).
I have a program here that could build the menu if that\'s the route that we want to take on it.

The problem with an include is that it would have to be php which I can\'t edit easily on here for example. (The idea of using SSI just occured to me, may think about that one). I had wanted to make it nice and simple (expecially since I had kept php option out). The iNet idea would be an option (hotscripts, wht, etc) but I had just taken the simple ostg route (slashdot, sourceforge, etc) for the moment. I would probably explore some JS menu\'s, but I really don\'t want to overcomplicate it...most likely just a form with a auto submit.

I tried to get the pheonix in the space where the eyes are, but it didn\'t turn out good at all, so I settled on the eyes.

I actually prefere whats there now, would look just as good with a drop down menu (clearly trying as hard as possible so it isnt ugly default colours) If flash was to become an option something like that can easilly be done, thouh be easier not to be flash. But yeah, we need a pheonix in there somewhere really, so that its allways associated with killanet etc

Very easily doable. The method of putting it on the pages will have to be thought about, but apart from that the topbar I did will only need 3 divs, 2 images and a drop down menu.

I like spec's idea, the bar looks good and I don't think that it would be too hard to implement. Ada and I were talking about the idea a while ago (possibly when we were starting KN) and wanted to do something like inet (the one at hotscripts).

Yes, its possible. That is what I meant by the iNet option ([url=\"http://hotscripts.com/\"][u]clicky[/u][/url]). The drop down colours can be changed shane, don\'t worry <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />
