10 Things to Do With Old PCs

If you've been using PCs for a while, you're bound to have an old one you don't use much, if at all. With 2-GHz computers available for well under $1,000, what good is an old 300-MHz Pentium II system? The answer depends on your willingness to experiment, have fun, learn, and prevent pollution. Here are ten things you can do with that old PC, starting with tasks for relatively "better" old PCs, and working our way down to the real junkers.

I had one that was like 12 years old.. Recently I trashed it and my dad threw it out or something. If you ever feel like bashing something, an extremely old computer is a nice way to take out your anger <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

What i do whit my old computers is take everything thats good out of them, and build a new one. Im currently running a Dell Optiplex GX1 that is a combination of an old compaq(1995 or later), and old other crappy dell i picked up somewhere=\(had a 40 gig harddrive which was better then my old 7 gigger ;P) and the dell optiplex itself. Its a very dependable computer i think. I've never had any problems with it. 500Mghz, 40 gig harddrive, 356MB of ram. Its pretty good for just being junk i got for free.
