close...the reeds picture I took from a little pier that had a cement footing jutting out, it just happened to be a teeny bit above water level. The lily pads one I took with the camera sitting right down on the shoreline.

Two items worthy of note, first, if you are going to be a photographer "assistant" like myself, then be prepared for a hour hike that would normally take 15 minutes, and also try to balance the 150 lbs (ok, maybe not that much!) of camera equipment.
