As the KN download sys is coming towards completion (hopefully less than a month away), I need to decide on some prefixes for staff (like those used on devART)
so far I\'m leaning towards the chat kinda system, so it will be familiar to everyone, this is:
~ = root admin
& = network staff
@ = chat/forum staff
% = developer/author (someone who creates files for download)
+ = subscriber?
then the users with no prefix.
for the freeware site, there will only be admins (and possibly network staff, maaaaaybe developer) prefixes present, this is because the system will be more \"guest friendly\" for this site and will not require a login to download files etc.
replies aren\'t really essential, but if you\'ve any preferences.. such as if you despise the way the chat prefix system works, or if you would like anything changed.. let me know.
by the way.. the system (some of it, other parts can\'t be accessed yet) can be seen at:

if you wish to login, do so using ner0/ner0 as the user/pass... there\'s currently absolutely nothing to explore, its all behind the scenes being tied together <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... diablo.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(evil)\' />

tbh, I don\'t like IRC prefixes...... I wish I could just remove them all together in mIRC and color code everyone.. *sigh*

There's an idea---have them colour coded! You could change the whole name's colour or just have a little gif beside their name with different colours.

Could Admins customise their own colour? For example, could Adaera choose hot pink? <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

lol, so far it\'s a colour/prefix for the whole group.. but i could code it in if the demand for hot pink was big enough <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

will the download pages be a similar format to devart? where you upload your work, (it displays artist name) then invite comments?
if so color would be a good idea - unless of course it clashes or blends in too well with the sites colors lol....how about teeny tiny avatars next to the name? like the size of an emoticon to denote what you mentioned above.

Is this going to be linked to the forum in any way? If so, maybe use the colour groups from there?
