Sounds cool, just make sure you don't break anything <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />.

Building up a computer is quite easy really. You just need to know where to put the certain components.

well...youre partly correct there, building a computer CAN be easy..sometimes <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> like anything else, you just need practice <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> i would suggest starting on an old machine. start small, take the hard drive out. swap it with another, then boot..see if it works <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

each time go a bit further, take the cd/floppy drives out next. then perhaps the power supply. dont try and go too quickly, or you -will- forget where something goes, or where something plugs into <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> (it happens to us all <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />)

if you get stuck, you can always post on here for some help <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

vercz, the mad comp modder <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... el_not.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(not)\' />

wow, talk about thread revival lol

I officially suck at hardware installation, we did a unit on it in college last year and lets just say my grade wasn't the best <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' /> I'll leave it to other people <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... iggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
'class KPIM::ProcessManager' only defines private constructors and has no friends <- :( poor class

yeah right.....after my first year at university i thought i could rebuild my machine....it badly needed it....i bought all the parts, spent about 220 pounds on a harddrive, mother board, case, processor......opened it up -OMG all those wires!!!!! i ended up paying some guy sixty five pounds to put it all in....i just couldnt figure it all out.
vercz idea of doing it bit by bit sounds sane....but my way still cost me less than if i'd bought a new one lol

[b]King, Sounds nice ... only a 1.8GHz come on man step that up <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... igwink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />

building computers now in days is easy. Most every thing is plug and play. Not like when I started out back in the mid 80's. Just installing a hard drive back then was hours of work. Debug at the right address for the right hard drive controller. In put all the right info for the drive. Then hope you don't go into a Fantum format, (low leval). If every thing went right then you get to do a Fdisk and a full format. If ever your hard drive controller went out. All the data on the hard drive was GONE, because you couldn't just pluge it onto another controller. It had to be the same controller it was setup on, and no other. Thank god for IDE's. MFM's and RLL's where a headake just waiting to give you a very bad day.
