Post by mobil1_oils »

I just realised after running out of space, that i would now have to remove some of my old posts, So i decided to start with the month i opened my blog, which was december 2004, and i realised that it only goes up to November 2004, there is no december. Also, there isn't a way you can download all the months at once is there? lol.

Will fix the months problem in a second. I'm afraid you can only do 1 month at a time, otherwise it would put a bit of a strain on the server.

Yeah, thats when all the cheery happy posts about all the free stuff you got are made <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />.

Just a thought too, don't know if this is plausible but maybe when you make the export.tar file, could you include the date in the filename? so when you're exporting multiple files you can have export1204.tar for december or something, just so you don't have to export it, then unzip it to a directory, or rename it so you know which month it is. Shoot me if i'm going to fast here <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />.

The problem with that is that the .rars would then build up in the /temp dir. At the moment export.rar is being rewritten every time someone exports, so not too much of a problem.

I'll ponder it...

Yeah, i didn't think of that, but is there a way you could set it to remove the .rar from the /temp directory after the user downloads it? Sorry if that didn't make any sense, i've been out all night and i just got home and i'm so tired, but not tired also (if anyone knows how that feels, it's like you feel tired, but you really don't want to go to bed because you've got urges to just go out and do something, but you live in a town where theres nothing to do except A) go to the pub, or <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... shades.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'B)\' /> go to the 24 hr kebab shop [which i might add, usually comes in handy after going to option A])

Ok, i exported all posts from december 04, till september 05, and renamed them all and have them saved. But when i went to prune comments, december is missing from those aswell <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />.

Also, when you click "Support" on the KB page, then click "Forum" it leads straight to an Apache test page for me. Even when i hold shift and refresh. But if i type the page in exactly as it was before by hand and shift+refresh it, it loads the forum fine :s. Anyone else get this prob?

EDIT: Pruned the comments from my blog, it only has 8 pages of comments now, well under the threshold, but still it's showing my remaining space as 0, and it wont let anyone post comments yet.

MySQL is showing you as using 503.4KB, mobes...
If you're having a real hard time cleaning out enough to bring you under the total, I suppose I could go in sometime today and remove all the "http://" from the 'poster_url' field... since they are not real links, anyway.
That would probably be enough to bring it down.

What exactly is the threshold amount? because when kb2 came in, i was about 4kb under the limit, then 2 more posts put me over, so i cleaned out about 11 pages of posts and i'm still over the amount. The majority of posts on there at the moment i will delete soon anyway, as they are december 04 posts that i can't get to at the moment <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />.

846 posts right now in there. I have you down to 501.1 KB database size... I believe the limit is 500KB.
I'll see if I can shave off a little more, just to get you back to a usable size.

Any posts that are in there up to June 2005, should have been removed. Because i don't see how there could be 800 odd posts, unless thats including comments aswell. Thanks for trying to get me under the limit too <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />.
