MySQL by Paul DuBois

Paul DuBois wrote this insightful book on the basics of MySQL. This book contains tons of diagrams and explains things very thoroughly. Not only that, but it shows examples in the following languages: Perl, Python, PHP, C, and more.
What I like about this book is that it is very helpful to those who do not know MySQL. The diagrams and examples are a great way of learning how to use the many features MySQL has to offer.
What I don't like about the book is that it is very long and it takes awhile to get into. If you already know the basics, you should look in the contents to find an appropriate chapter for you.
This book is not only for the newcomers and novices. It can be useful to just about anybody. All you have to do is look at the contents and find what you're looking for.
