A little Help Please
I'd like to see if someone could blend a pic I have with the background color of a business card. I took a pic of the card that I'm working off of from my monitor so what you'll see is pretty close.
I'm hoping for it to look seamless, in that the pic would be able to just, as stated, blend into the card.

Thanks in advance <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/bow.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'(bow)\' />
oh, and also.. if you could let me know how I can do it myself.. or point me to a tutorial using PS7, I'd appreciate that as well <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
MIght help if I actually gave the pic Iwant to use...

thanks again!

Greyhound, could you please give me the hex number for the blue you\'re using? That way we can be sure it\'s the proper one and that it doesn\'t get lost in the translations, so to speak. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Oh boy... I wish I could Tami. The thing is, is that it's a stock template for a business card. I'd have no idea about how to get that number <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... #>/cry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
Sorry.. but, thanks anyways.

Maybe we\'d get a better idea of the colour and make it easier to match if you directly took a pic from the comp.
To do this just press Print screen button on your keyboard which should be located above your Insert button.
Then open up a program such as paint and press CTRL+V and that should paste the image in there, then its jsut a matter of going file>save as and probably a .png extension to keep the colour. (the .bmp has an extremely high quality but in return you have a very large file size)
And i\'m not exactly sure what you wan\'t the picture of the dog to be blended in with; the card? if so just tae a picture like shown above in this post <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
As for how you can do it... it has to do with layer masks and quik layer masks, so I guess i should write a tutorial on that soon <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

ok, here's what I got after following HoaX's instructions:

And what I'd like is for the image of the hound to meld into the upper right hand corner.
Again, here's the pic of the dog:

Am I making ANY sense?

Yes you are, but the image of the card is still too small, so we don\'t know the resolution how big etc and can\'t use that image... but it appears to be coming from a website so do you have a link to it?
It shouldn\'t be a big job at all, so maybe if you provide the link it can be done.

Hey i\'m not sure I can use that card due to legal reasons, unless its free, but I think we can create a very similar business card, then again I donno, its 2:14 am <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
I or someone else can try and make one, if I do it it may take a while, just had my hdd formated so I don\'t have photoshop installed yet.

HoaX... Ok.. let me see if I can clarify.... we don't need to recreate the template itself.. what I'd like to be able to do is make it so the pic of the dog fits in the upper right corer w/o the surrounding water.
What I can do, is drop the image I want onto the template and stretch it out. Even over the text of the card.

*the light goes on* ...okay so you want just the dog, not the water?
Try this...using your magnetic lasso tool, outline the dog. Use alot of anchor stops to keep the lasso as close to where you want it as possible.
I\'ll fire up photoshop in a minute (morning caffeine level is dangerously low and that must be fixed first) Give me a few minutes, and I\'ll give it a go to show you what I mean.

yeah.. that's it.. I just wanna make it so I can drop the dog on top of the water...
Another friend tried it, but the dog image she ended up with was too small and when I stretched it over the card, it got REALLY pixilated.

ah lol, now I get what your saying, I had something different in my mind <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... >/blum.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> (2:42am).

Okay...I have removed 98% of the water here, the one foot in the water was a bit touch and go. I\'ve attached the original photo and I also increased the photo size to 500 pixels in the second photo. This will probably be too wide for your card template, but by making it smaller it should make it sharper again. When you resize the photo down, use the Move Tool, click on one corner anchor, hold down the shift key as you decrease the photo size to maintain its proportions. You may also want to use a very low opacity on your blur tool (about 20%, maybe less) and with a 5 pixel brush setting, lightly go over the edges of the dog. This should make it blend better with the background you want to use.
This is really a clear background, it just goes black in attachment mode.
