Watching Over

Busy, busy to@ds and Im due for hibernation soon seen as its coming up to winter. Another manipulation, with a theme. This one is meant to give the idea of a person being watched over by someone they have lost. The dead tree represents the loss, withered and bare, while the girls face in the left hand corner is more literal to the person lost. The idea meant, is that the girl is dead but looking over her still living lover who sits blissfully unawares of the fact she is watching over him. The swampy empty background is meant be in referance to the gap between the two people, it looks like its reachable but blocked by the wall thats behind him. I think I may add this, and my Boys Dont Cry image into my online portfolio as part of my Self Progression Sessions as I feel they have been images that have helped move my skills and styles on some what. I have to agree with you, to@ds. These pieces are definitely progressive as far as your skills go. The depth and insight to both of them show a reflection of the emotions you put into your work, and I suspect are a subtle way of dealing with how you feel about your g/f having moved away for school.

I look forward to seeing more of these styles from you

Yeah, definatly the boys dont cry one is to do with Micheala but not because she gone off to uni, where as this one is not really to do with anything in my life, more of a kind of dream or notion that I think alot of us can understand on what its like to deal with the death of a loved one and how we hope that they are in a better place looking over us.

I think this piece definitely speaks to the memories we hold of loved ones who have crossed over.

No, Id say all right really, because its the way Im feeling about the whole situation that has got me inspired to just get back into photoshop. I suppose it is a way to deal/vent the situation. Lets just hope I can keep on doing some good work.
