Real Time Worlds reveals details of first title

GTA creator announces his first online title with Korean publisher

The Scottish development studio formed by Grand Theft Auto creator Dave Jones, Real Time Worlds, has announced details of its first game - All Points Bulletin, an online crime and law enforcement game due to launch in 2007.

The game, which will be showcased at the E3 expo this May in Los Angeles, is set to be published worldwide by Korean firm Webzen, which specialises in online games and recently announced its expansion into the North American market.

All Points Bulletin (APB) is a massively multiplayer game whose environments are modelled after real cities around the world, and which focuses on a turf war between Squads which uphold the law, and Gangs which break it.

Players will be able to choose which side they want to play on, and the game promises a high degree of customisation - with players able to customise their weapons, vehicles and clothes, and even the music and environments around them.

\"As an avid gamer and creator of many single player games, it has been my dream to create an online game experience that provides the player with the ultimate freedom to do whatever he wants, in a thriving, living environment,” commented Real Time Worlds founder Dave Jones.

\"When looking for a publishing partner for APB, it was imperative to find a company that was a worldwide leader in online games and we found that in Webzen, Inc.,\" he concluded.

Jones was a founder of famous Scottish developer DMA Design - now Rockstar North - and played a pivotal role in the creation of titles including Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto before leaving the company after it was sold to US publisher Take Two Interactive.

Real Time Worlds has played its cards close to its chest regarding the projects it is working on so far, but it\'s widely suspected that APB may not be the only game being developed at the studio - with industry rumours abounding of a project for Microsoft on the Xbox 2 platform.
