Commodore VIC-20 enthusiasts needn't be left out in the cold this summer.

Boston, Lincs., UK - July 5 2005 - Cronosoft set to release a novel take on Sega's classic Columns, for the unexpanded VIC-20!

Cronosoft are readying the release of Jason Kelk's all-new VIC-20 game ViColumn - and there's no RAM expansion needed to play it.

ViColumn works in just 3.58Kb of memory and is 100% machine code, based on the classic arcade hit Columns. The task in hand is simple - to match the coloured blocks in rows or columns of three or more to score points and progress through the levels. Although no diagonal or multiple matching is allowed in this game, it's a remarkable feat to squeeze everything into such a small amount of memory and still have something that is fun and playable. The game is planned to be released at this year's Classic Gaming Expo on 13th August (www.cgeuk.com), but advanced preview copies are now available on request to play on emulators or the real hardware.
