Animal Crossing: Wild World for the Nintendo DS - Red Tulip Glitch

[font="Arial"]Some rebels have been reporting that Nintendo has sent them another gift in Animal Crossing Wild World today when they connected online. But this time, it looks like Nintendo made a big mistake and is sending a bugged item that could actually screw your house and/or village completely.

From what people have been reporting, you’re receiving a letter from _blank_, marked as “From ” containg a gift named “[color="#FF0000"]Red Tulips[/color]”. The letter contains no content whatsoever and has no closing. The item shows up as a piece of furniture (green leef) and this is where the fun begins…

If you drop this piece of furniture in your house, it’ll be an “invisible” item that you can still walk over, but not put anything over it, nor push any other piece of furniture over it neither. You basically “lose” a space on your floor, not being able to pick the item back up. If you drop it outside, it’ll automaticly plant itself as a tree sprout, wherever you are; sand, ground, concrete, bridge, etc. There’s also some people saying that if you drop the item onto a table, the table will stay there forever. Just be careful and maybe keep this letter in your inventory for now until you get the full details about what to do with it. ([color="#3333FF"]* note that you can also sell it to Nook with no problem whatsoever[/color])

When Nintendo was contacted about this issue, this is what they had to say:

Earlier we reported on the ?[color=\"#FF0000\"]Red Tulip[/color]? glitch in Animal Crossing. It appears that Nintendo has now made an official statement about the matter:

"We have isolated the problem and determined that there was a temporary error with the upload tool when this letter was posted," said Nintendo, indicating that the corrupted data was the result of an error on its part rather than the equivalent of a user-created virus. "Thankfully we have been able to limit the number of people affected by removing the related file from circulation. Players who have received the letter should delete it before placing the Red Tulip anywhere in their characters? homes."

Though there's currently no fix for players who have already been affected, Nintendo is looking into the matter. "We are investigating ways to remove the item from the homes of players who have experienced game-play interference," the statement continued, "and we will update the Animal Crossing: Wild World FAQ on NintendoWiFi.com when we have more information to share."
