Will Xbox 360 Premiums Now Come With 100GB HDD? - With Update.

Post by Skidz`Crew »

Crank up the Xbox 360 rumor mill, because this one's a doozy. But, as with all rumors, take this with a huge grain of salt.

According to a post on the forums at Xbox.com, there is supposedly an internal Best Buy document that states that all new Xbox 360 Premium systems will come with a 100 GB hard drive, instead of the 20 GB hard drive currently in the Premium version of the 360.

Speculation continues that this could be true, since Microsoft and Direct TV are now working together for what many speculate will be some sort of Xbox 360 Digital Video Recorder.

Update: Gamerscore Blog, the site with the "inside scoop from Microsoft Xbox and Games Employees", is weighing in on the rumor of whether or not new Xbox 360 Premium systems will soon come bundled with a 100 GB hard drive. Current Premium 360 systems only have a 20 GB drive.

Cesar Menendez response to the budding rumor that the Xbox 360 will come bundled with a 100 gig hard drive in April? "No. Not true. False."

He goes on to give Microsoft's official statement on the rumor: "We haven’t announced any additional hard drives for the Xbox 360 beyond the 20 GB version available today."

As for the Best Buy informant who first leaked the story, the new word out is that Best Buy is supposedly holding some 360 units for a big April gaming promotion, with contests online, lots of 360s, and some type of contest for its employees and Media Supervisors.
