We have one... stupid system too, really. the "pen holder" build into it doesn't actually hold the pens... it simply stores them until you move the system more than 2" in any direction, at which point they fall out and vanish from existance. YAY for bulk purchasing!!
And the games that require you to "Blow into the MIC" (read: Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire, and Princess Peach, as examples)... yeah, nothing quite like spitting into your game system in order to pass a level... but don't blow too hard, or else the system won't recognise it. Only blow a 'little' hard.
And I just love having to watch two screens at once to figure out where the Hell I am in a game, and how to get out.
Spiderman 2, on the other hand, made good use of the dual screens. But Mario Kart, I discovered was much more fun to play on a real system, instead of a handheld.
I'm thinking that the DS is going to suffer an unfortunate accident sometime in the next few days...

Did ya think you could escape me forever? I've read what Nightstorm said and either you're just making up BS because you hate the DS for no reason, or you seriously have no hand eye cordination. For one thing, the Stylus (Not pen, genius) does actually stay in its holder. You must have done something to the nub on your stylus or something *grabs DS, turns upside down and shakes* Yep, still there. I got a web cam and recording software, want me to make a movie of it to show it's the truth? I'll give you credit for blowing in the mic not being the best thing in the word, but maybe you should have dry mouth while playing, I dunno. The only game I've seen where you need to blow into the mic is Wario Ware: Touched, but I don't like Harry Potter and I have very little interest in Super Princess Peach. Oh, and my Wario ware: Touched has had no problem what-so-ever with me blowing into my mic as hard as I can, but I try not to cause then I could get a little light headed... not the best of ideas, but a decent one. Mario Kart DS is my favorite of all the Mario Karts because I think it's got the best control and the Dual screen is awesome. I can have the full map, which I use when I beat people down on Wifi, or use the "Radar" to see where potential hazards are as well as trying to block Red Turtle shells. Hey, don't blame the game just because you can't keep your eyes on the road.

Yeah... I did something to the bag of 50 stylus pens. Cause you know, I have nothing better to do with my time (like keep this server running) than to trim off all the double-grooves in the pens so they fall out.
Considering a major part of my job is hand-eye coordination, I doubt that would be the problem I am having with my annoyances towards the DS. but you, of course being the all-knowing Nintendo geek, would simply assume the problem is at the users end, as opposed to substandard design for a 25 (this August) year old multi-billion dollar company (the same company that dreamed up the idea of a game controller being shaped like a remote and requiring the dexterity of a Ninja to maintain control over it's functions).
Nintendo is struggling to keep it's head above water in a sea of competition that it drowned in several years ago. They can't even properly introduce legacy support... something that other systems managed to bring into effect several years ago. While they boast that they now have WiFi for their handhelds, other systems claim WiFi, as well as movie, TV, and music support. While their console claims to support fast gameplay, others boast fast gameplay, legacy support, online gaming, Movie players... Nintendo simply can not compete anymore, and the DS is just one of many examples to support this.

Oh, and on a sidenote, while I have your attention. You want to turn this personal like you have done to every other thread that dares to question the superiority of your precious Nintendo, I will have no problems with banning your ass from every site on every server we own. I have neither the patience nor the time for condescending children like yourself, and while I would quite enjoy a mature discussion on the future of gaming, I will not hesitate to ban you on a first offence. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

You say I'm one acting like a child and you're being the mature one, yet when your oppinoins are questioned, you (like others I've met) can't back up your oppinoins in any way and simply have to hide behind your powers. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest sign a power hungry brat there is. *cough*baby*cough* If you can't handle being questioned, then don't post. Simple as that. As for your 50 stylus things, well... whatever floats your boat, I guess (PS: Incase you couldn't tell, that's sarcasm in response to yours). And there are a variety of things that could cause the Stylus to not stay in the DS anymore, be it your fualt, theirs, or outside situations. However, I have yet to have any problems like that. If you want, I'll grab my DS again and record it being shaken upside down. Your wording makes it sound like if you take any DS stylus and stick it in any DS then it will fall out without fail. Perhaps you should rethink how you state things, especially on the internet where words are all we have to go by. Non-verbal communication is all lacking in this form and so messeges can easily be taken in a variety of ways, and that's how I understood that messege. I also want to point out that the Revolution should support movies and music and such. And incase you have not read it yet, there is a new product out for the DS so that it can play movies, music, and show pictures. There will also be a new web browser for the DS released eventually. A TV broadcast reciever is also in existance for the DS, but that is only supposed to be in Japan. Please read up on these. It appears to me Nintendo can compete and is doing a very good job with it. I would think if any system could not keep up with compatition that it would be Microsoft since they seem to have trouble grasping the concept they are supposed to make money selling video game systems, not lose it. If it wasn't for the fact Microsoft has money to spare fromt heir computer stuff, the X-box systems would be dead and buried.

PS: You might want to check the numbers for the sales of DS before you say Nintendo can't compete. Those look pretty good to me.

Yes, I do say you are the one acting like a child. Dren and I were having a mature non-offensive conversation until you jumped in with your agressive pathetic attitude. You've been warned about that several times, I recall, so before you go whining and crying to your mommy that people are exerting authority, you might want to recall those warnings. <img src=\'http://www.killanet.net/forum3/public/s ... /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
I have yet to find a stylus that does NOT fall out of my DS... hence the 50-count bag of stylus pens now sitting on the shelf next to the car pack. Whether it's a problem with mine or the design in general, it's nothing that I have done to it as this was an existing situation the moment that the DS came out of it's overpackaged box. That tells me the problem is at the end of the designer, and not the user.
Your comment about the Revolution is most entertaining... about 2 years too late, I might add. Movie and music support was introduced to consoles long before Nintendo tackled the topic... and they have yet to actually release a console which will do it. Last I checked, the Revolution still was not in stores, and was still in the "developmental" stages. Can you find it in any stores or homes?
I am very aware of what addons are available (or may someday be available) for the DS. The point to the matter is that you need to pay extra for something that other systems had prebundled long ago. Why? Because Nintendo suddenly noticed that they fell behind... while they were busy designing the controller from Hell, other consoles and systems were already years ahead of them in development, release, and control.

Lets look at some numbers:
Japan in 2004
PS2 sold 2.59 million units
Nintendo sold 420,000 units
(that's a difference of 2.17 million units, or 16.162_% of Sony's sales, for you Math Majors)

2005 Sales:
PS2 sold 101 million units
Microsoft sold 24 million Xboxes
Nintendo sold 21 million Gamecubes
Again, that's a difference of 80 Million units (or 20.7920_% of Sony's sales figure), and 3 million under Microsoft

Now... most people would recognise that as Nintendo being at the bottom end of sales for 2 years in a row, showing it's inability to properly compete in the market. Perhaps the Revolution will save their 2006 sales, but with the PS3 coming out soon, and the full years sales for the XBox360, it's a lot more likely that they will again, as is their new patern, flop. With three consoles on the market, not being able to even sell a quarter of the total number of units is a massive downfall for any company... but for one like Nintendo, it's just common.
Now, what were you saying about Nintendo doing very well with competing with the likes of Sony?

Even the DS sales could not beat the PSP over the course of the year (and I can't stand the PSP).
2005 U.S. handheld unit sales:
Nintendo DS 2.58 million
Sony PlayStation Portable 3.63 million
Hmm... looks to me like they fell short again. Oh well, maybe 2006 will be the year for Nintendo. Kind of like 1981, right?

Only time will tell. Honestly, there can't be any predictions made just yet as Nintendo won't release *any* information on the upcoming console. Though, I've seen some in-game screenshots of a mario game being played and the lighting effects looked so realistic. Then again, I haven't seen PS3's lighting nor 360's. I think it's quite safe to say that whoever is saying the Revolution will crush all the other sales for next-gen consoles are crazy unless they've actually used all 3 and can compare them all, but then again, it's all about preference. :]

A few months ago, they had an article in one of the Gaming Magazines I am subscribed to (can't recall which one... it's upstairs somewhere in the stack... same one that reviewed the new Superman game) they have several pictures of the new controller for Revolution, as well as some one-on-one with the developers. Even the people at the game mag said that the controller is completely illogical for 90% of the gaming market... it appears to cater more to the Lightsaber-duel style games, and possibly flight sims. they said about the only thing that Nintendo has going for them is the motion sensors to detect your movements and react as necessary (possibly to sprout legs and run like Hell before you crush the system), but even this feature has been done by the most basic of game systems, available for $30 at Wall-Mart.

I'm not holding my breath waiting for Nintendo to recover from their 5 years of being dominated all over the board... I've already moved on to more superior systems, as have millions of others.
