E3 Gives Producers of new Awards Warm Welcome
Major Exhibitors Agree the Time Has Come for This Year's Inaugural Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts
VANCOUVER, May 16, 2006 - EA, Ubisoft, A2M, Auto Desk, Studio B, Voicebox, Nitrogen, Bardel, Western Imperial, David Kaye Productions, Budget Monks, British Columbia Film, Sheridan Institute, VanArts, Selkirk College, and The Art Institute of Vancouver are the players already on board and backing the new Canadian Awards for the Electronic and Animated Arts (CAEAA 2006).
?These awards are for the industry by the industry,? says Holly Carinci, Producer of the CAEAA. ?We believe that it?s time for the incredible Canadian talent contributing to this $30 billion plus industry to stand up and take a bow.?
The producers of the awards also wanted to build a bridge between the animation and video gaming industries, as well as the students and educators who supply the talent for both trades. ?Their collaboration together is not yet being fully recognized and so we thought that we?d make the show completely unique by awarding all three,? says Carinci. The successful outcome from meeting with industry veterans in both Canada and the US have proven the producers right with the supporters and sponsors of the CAEAA growing daily. The Producers are now negotiating with the big platform developers and expect to make a major announcement soon.
The first year of this high tech/high glam awards event is being held near Vancouver, BC at the River Rock Theatre on September 14th, 2006. For more information on the awards, visit www.caeaa.com.

After-Party, of course. Gala only serves wine, whereas after-parties will break out the better stuff.
