7-Zip is free software distributed under the GNU LGPL (except for the RAR plugin).

7-Zip (except for the file Rar29.dll) is a free software distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License. The file Rar29.dll is under mixed license: GNU LGPL + unRAR restriction (the unRAR sources cannot be used to re-create the RAR compression algorithm, which is proprietary).
